Just a typical metal mesh building material can do it. My friend has a house with an accidental Faraday cage like that. 0 bars unless you're near a window, 90% packet loss if you're near a window but not sticking the phone outside. Wifi only works if you're LOS to the access point.

Some bars have nearly every customer on a phone. Not an issue in restaurants though.

Yeah I want to know who exactly was their target audience with the 2013 and 2019 models. It made sense before that. I loved my 2009 model (4,1).

Yeah I'm pretty sure Nvidia just doesn't care to make Mac drivers. For years there was no SIP, Apple sold the Mac Pro which could take Nvidia GPUs, but you basically couldn't use Nvidia because of how bad and outdated the drivers were. I had a GTX 650 in my Mac Pro for a while, it was borderline unusable.

eGPUs are kind of a joke. People would be way more likely to use dedicated GPUs with Macs if they had PCIe slots.

Nvidia GPUs were usable on Intel Macs, but compatibility got worse over time, and Apple stopped making a Mac Pro with regular PCIe slots in 2013. People then got hopeful about eGPUs, but they have their own caveats on top of macOS only fully working with AMD cards. So I've gotten numb to any news about Mac + GPU. The answer was always to just get a non-Apple PC with PCIe slots instead of giving yourself hoops to jump through.

Yeah an F-15 shootdown is about tech. Palestinians being killed is horrible, but that doesn't mean it fits here.

Google did flag the Ad Nauseam Chrome extension as malware, so that was a definite abuse of power. This one is unclear.

People in dense urban areas have way fewer kids for various reasons, one of which is it's much harder to deal with them on public transport.

XMPP was a well intended idea but a bad protocol. Sure federation is good, but they needed a proper standard instead of making everything an optional extension that C2S and S2S never agree on. Like getting the right auth and encryption is even messier than on email.

Also, XML was the wrong choice. Pissed me off as a dev, back when I was doing stuff with ejabberd.

PATH was the last thing. I was more annoyed that the recommended way of installing Java in Linux is wrong. That wasted like 30min before I realized.

Is this an important feature? I know WhatsApp and iMessage have some kind of API for businesses, but as a regular user, I've never interacted with a legit business using it. Only been harassed by bots a few times.

My one serious problem with Signal is that it silently goes out of date then stops sending notifications, so I miss messages entirely. Kind of its one job.

There used to be some SF Italian restaurant that showed first if you Googled "SPQR." Their SEO was stronger than Rome. I don't even live near there.

I think this meme has bumped the real SPQR back to the top.
