The USA oligarchs were watching Lenin, Mussolini, Hitler and New Dealed just hard enough to blow some steam off and keep things mostly as they were.

If you believe Smedley Butler, at least some of those USA oligarchs were big Mussolini fans.

Seems likely to be even worse now. USS Ford out of action, removed from region due to "laundry fire" and some socks in the toilets. Also USN has far fewer carriers to deploy. Three or more were deployed continuously off Vietnam for years at a time.

When have any elite not thought they were the smartest, most virtuous, anointed by god, etc? I don't think you can just point to Rand or something -- That's just the modern context we view it through.

Access as a front end for mssqlserver ran great in a small shop. Seems like there was a wizard that imported the the access tables easily into sqlserver.

I've not seen anything as easy to use as the Access visual query builder and drag-n-drop report builder thing.

The deeper BS is that there is no engine. People remember the XB-1 demonstrator flying and assume that Boom is farther along than they really are. The XB-1 had off-the-shelf GE engines.

on a pi?

You can run nodejs fine on a pi with "Raspberry Pi OS Lite". In the configs, look for "Overlay File System" and enable it on the boot partition and main partition. The pi will boot from the sd card and run entirely in ram.

Be sure to run something to clear your logs occasionally or reboot once in a while or you'll run out of RAM. Still, get a quality sd card and power supply. You can get years out of a setup like this.
