I love my 15 Air (M2). I’m curious how the Air 15 is better in a way that may or may not be available as an upgrade in the X9 or some other option.

This seems to be key. People must want Windows or Linux so badly they will pay 25-30% for a thinkpad with a track pad that is almost as good. Don't these manufacturers sell more machines than Apple and could benefit from better economies of scale. Maybe the scale is just at the low end and the iPhone subsidizes premium Mac hardware.
I have yet to read about someone who priced out something "as good" as the MacBook Air in terms of component quality and efficiency. What would the price premium be... over 50%?
Either way it costs money to avoid macOS at the higher end but not much when you’re spending thousands of US dollars.

In the US, most specialists are booked out 6 months. It seems impossible to find a mental health care provider that accepts insurance and is taking new patients. You can get prescribed mental health drugs from your primary care physician.
That's just my experience and I have health insurance provided by one the world's richest employers, I pay 4,318.86/yr in premiums for our family with a multi-thousand-dollar deductible.
Maybe if I was a very rich person in a poorer area that still happens to have a hospital, I'd have an easier time scheduling healthcare but I'd have to make that choice over moving abroad.

It seems to me they are doing this for sympathy. They know how people feel about AI and big tech and do these speeches to repair their reputations, part of that is showing how mean and unfair the youths are to them.

Yeah the name is a little clumsy sounding. I think Pixelbook isn't as recognizable as Chromebook.
I guess they don't want the baggage from Chromebook because Chrome is a given Google wants people to think Google == AI the way they think Chrome == internet.
We may not like Copilot but the truth is Google's OS is already delivering what Apple Intelligence promised on laptops and phones. Google has a lot of customers, a good amount of Apple customers seem to want Apple Intelligence. I'm interested in seeing how Google does against Apple (and curious what GoogleBook will cost). It's important to remember that it was in the works long before MacBook Neo was announced and maybe even before it was rumored.

The food court is where we can all be ourselves.
When I shop early I salute the people having breakfast in the food court. One afternoon I saw people at a table with an empty rotisserie chicken package, hittin' their macros. I had my baby with me one time, offering him bites of my hotdog and being praised for being a man spending time with my child as if I had vaccinated a needy village.

Plus every manufacturer discount is technically advertising revenue for Costco (or any retailer).
Affiliations with providers of products like insurance, bottled water delivery, checks and the credit card are also sources of revenue.

I think about this a lot too. There always seems to be a fitness trend involving classes like aerobics, yoga, pilates, Taibo, Zumba. But if we're talking about weight training, it is definitely having a moment now.
I wonder if all the instructional content on Youtube makes training with weights and weight machines more accessible than ever. I was intimidated by weights and figured it would be boring. A guy I knew was talking about his weight training and I asked if he plans things out with friends/workout buddies and he said he learns about it on YouTube. So when I finally pushed myself to try weights, I found a video. It was a petite woman (I'm a dude) and I thought, ok she looks better than I do and this routine is a nice start. And I went from there, in my forties.
My funniest theory is that dating has been getting more competitive and strength-training is good for confidence.
