I both agree and disagree. It's a terrible way to read anything long-form, but in the case of a suspenseful story like this it's pretty great.

Not just to feel bad, but also to experience discomfort. A lot of addiction is just trying to find relief for temporary discomfort.

I create DigitalOcean droplets on-demand via their API and roughly 10% of the requests just fail with a generic error message, and then get into an error state with "failure to create droplet."

It's... pretty frustrating, so I'm looking for a new provider with a simple API.

That's what Zipcar (or its competitors) is for. In most cases us city-dwellers still save money on short-term rentals over the cost of car ownership.

Thanks for the info. How on earth could Comcast have a single point of failure for their entire network nation-wide?

Would this suggest that there's possibly something like a MITM attack going on that's hijacking their traffic somewhere?

Serious question - what could cause this? I don't know much about network configuration or DNS. Could it be a coordinated attack on Comcast's infrastructure somewhere? Seems a little crazy that they'd be experiencing problem nation-wide with no redundancy baked into their system.

I tried manually flipping over to Google's DNS servers with the same result.
