I always assumed that any output from a generative model would be uncopyrightable.
And hence, if a company produced, say, notebooks whose only distinguishing feature was being decorated with a generated image, then anyone else would be within their legal rights to copy it wholesale and put the exact same image on their own notebooks.
Therefore, if a company wants to manufacture actual intellectual property, then they need to hire an actual human to produce it.
I'd love to hear if anyone knows:
a) Is this interpretation accurate in any relevant jurisdictions?
b) Has it ever been tested in court?

For me, boot environments are the killer feature. I think it's the only mainstream OS to really support the concept. Void linux (which is great) and (probably?) the Illumos distributions are the other open source choices, but those are much more niche. Or you could bolt it on to another linux distro using ZBM, but then you're on your own.
Every update I clone the current boot environment, execute it as a jail, run upgrades in there, and then once upgrades finish I set it to "boot just once", all using the built in bectl. At no point during an upgrade is the running OS in an inconsistent state. Powerloss during upgrade? no problem, since it wasn't activated yet your server comes up with the previous version. And you can either junk the partial upgraded env and start over, or jail it again and continue.
I only wish laptop support was a bit better. But since my laptop is more of a pet, at least it can have Void.

If the games you want are on steam, check if they are on this list: https://areweanticheatyet.com/
If there is no anticheat (or the anticheat is supported), and the game is on steam, then I would wager that it would "just work". My feeling is that it's more like 99% now. Non steam games can be more problematic (I had issues with the blizzard/wow launcher for instance, it can be made to work but definitely doesn't "just work").
Happy gaming!

It might be interesting to try your idea, to see for yourself where the difficulty lies, but be warned that finding general solution formulas for degree 3 and 4 equations is kind of brutally difficult. I'd link to the historical developments but it would spoil it for those that nevertheless want to give it a shot. Degree 5 requires some serious far out of the box ideas, if you want to understand what's going on.
But in general the idea of making small changes to solved problems and seeing if you can tackle them is an excellent approach to recreational mathematics! I think I'd start somewhere other than higher degree equations though, that would be a rough start.

This raises an intriguing idea. The solutions will require children to upload their personal information, including photos. Like roblox.
Children are clearly not capable of understanding the ramifications of this decision. So, prompting children to upload such info should itself be illegal.
Nevermind that most adults do not understand the ramifications either, but we assume they are capable of consenting to anything by fiat, so let's ignore that...

I guess the meta level point to teach your hypothetial kid is that media is not an instruction manual?
It's true that the characters are very flawed, but perfect characters would not make a compelling story... I guess you are talking about Cameron and not Donna, but if so I'd also say that I think the story does not really reward her, in the end.

I think about this at least on a monthly basis.
Especially when I start to spend too much time obsessing about storage optimization, or similar. To me, sometimes, the computer is the thing.
But it's really helpful to take a step back and think about the big picture.

Ctrl-F "red team" found nothing.
But then I read the answers and apparently a couple of them had the same idea.
Not sure why it's not the most upvoted option, it seems like the only one that is is not self refuting, as the sincere version of those hypothetical businesses would starve from terminal stupidity...
I make use of multiple user accounts for myself. Every computer has at least 3: root, personal, and work. I don't really understand why it's not more common to maintain separate work and personal logins but I do recommend it. One of the computers also has a local login for a family member, for when they want to use it.
For your bonus question: I run GrapheneOS and as of now I have 8 user accounts. This might be a bit much for most people. The idea is that my main personal and work accounts use exclusively open source apps, and any context which demands proprietary apps gets siloed off somewhere. Two of the user accounts have google services framework installed, but neither is logged in to the play store.
The reason that the phone is more complex is that I am essentially never forced to use proprietary apps on my desktops, there has always been a way to work around it. But not so on the phone.
