Continuation passing style by spawning a new thread with the continuation function. Wow. I remember trying to wrap my head around how Erlang implemented infinite loops with recursion (tail recursion with a trampoline I guess?) but never would have guessed it could be done in C by spawning a thread.

It is sad. This is a new reality. No one reads machine code, it is compilers all the way down. It has been long enough now that I can safely say C has not sped up project delivery nor improved quality when it did ship.

The author uses something, but it’s definitely not an em dash. An em dash is the width of the letter m. That thing is much wider.
