Until they are embedded into automatons that can interact with the world.

(To be clear, I'm both on board with this, and I think it's the natural progression. Currently they are bounded by their training set, but interaction with the world is the imperative for theory -> test -> analysis -> update that is essential for growth and creativity.)

I think the right comparison is AI models versions, not intra-AI-model growth (although even that can 'learn' with persistent memory & contexts).

Does anyone else always read "Mistrial" instead of "Mistral"? Always think I'm about to read a juicy gossip piece, and let down when it's just a standard update on an AI company.

edit A lot of AI company names are really strange, actually. "Claude" is really the best a trillion+ dollar company could come up with? It sounds like the name of a grandpa or something.

I read that the emergency vehicle may have weighed 60,000 lbs. It can't stop quickly any more than an airplane can.

I was a small child at the zoo. I had lost my parents in the crowd, and was scared.

A nice black man (this was important because I grew up in a white neighborhood and hadn't encountered many black people before) knelt down to me and asked me if I was okay, if I was lost. They brought me to the zoo office where they called my parents.

I'll never forget how strange and different they were to the child me, and yet how kind they were in the sea of scary strangers.

Your comment is really interesting, but I didn't fully understand.

What do you mean by "metals don't actually withstand temperature"? As in the raw metal would melt were it not for the cooling vanes?

'If powered down, the engine would destroy itself' - from what? Overheating?

The lower power setting on shutdown does what? Spin it at a low RPM so it doesn't decrease in temp too quickly?

Critically, by torrenting they also directly distributed the copywritten material itself. That is a standalone infringement separate from any argument about trained LLMs.
