There must be more money in competitive play though. Not as much recently, but I remember a trend some years back of throwing even a large casual player base under the bus to cater to the competitive multiplayer scene.

One of the theories for part of the Civ6 flop is that they wanted to cater to multiplayer scenes which have different concerns from a casual single player. Removing hotseat is extremely egregious though and the one reason I’ve refused to give the game a chance. I’d be willing to look past the “Humankind ripoff lol” memes if I could play with my gf.

The hatred and jealousy for Spez is so great in this platform, that the comment section becomes a cesspool of contempt. They all secretly want to use Reddit because it’s very convenient to consume news and other form of content. But they refuse to make an account because of their pettiness. So they rather use third party websites. Making an Reddit account would take 2 minutes. But they rather just write a hate comment on HN every opportunity they can.

Hopefully the execs get a nice golden parachute at least. Wouldn’t want them to face any consequences for their actions.

Not sure if I’ve always been too rough with my should, but last year I needed to get more shoes as I was particularly active hiking and fishing that summer.

I ended up going with an expensive pair that was supposed to have all sorts features including some nest waterproof material that I was excited for.

A year later the waterproofing has nearly all rubbed off and a hole has grown next to the toe. These shoes were like $200.
