For me personally, the problem is my teammates. The ability or will to critically think, or investigate existing tools in the codebase seems to disappear. Too often now I have to send back a PR where something is fixed using novel implementations instead of the single function call using existing infrastructure.

Games that lean on conversation, Assassin's Creed for example, will sometimes have Dutch subtitles. Those helped me when I was younger, also enabling English subtitles in series and games.
But tbh a big thing is the exposure at a young age, I tried to do the same thing with Spanish series but a new language simply doesn't stick as well as it did 15 years ago.

To me it is clear that Gates was prepared by a host of lawyers, which makes sense.
But the interrogator doesn't grasp the subject entirely as well, I too would want clarification to the question if a content provider uses IE. You could ask a helpful question, e.g. Do you mean if they develop sites specifically for IE?
But That is not how you go about a deposition, you're not there to help people build a case against you.

Same here in most Dutch cities, I myself don't live near the city centre but still have a self contained neighbourhood with a ton of schools shops and other facilities. And the public transport is good enough to be able to reach the entire metropolitan area for a job.
Would be a nice research if someone could test different cities and neighbourhoods indeed.
