When I was in elementary we had a program where you could read a book and then take a test on that book. If you passed the test you would get a prize from snacks to coupons at restaurants. There were no limits and the book choice was large.
I ravenously read through books at first and would take the test asap. I was gaming the system, but through this I found books I became enthralled with. This was the foundation of my love for reading.
Not sure what my point was, but I wonder if any programs like that exist anymore.

I have been a part of MMA/Boxing in some way or another close to my entire adult life, and it has always been shocking how badly we treat concussions or blows to the head.
I've seen Olympic hopefuls being KNOCKED out and given the okay to compete by doctors. The macho attitude doesn't help. One personal anecdote I've seen, time and time again, that has helped is oxygen post-knockout.
every person I've spoken to who has gotten oxygen after a knockout or a hard match told me that they felt much much better vs the times they haven't. Not sure why or how.

The big elephant in the room, is those who have homes aren't ever going to let go of their homes for anything else than 100+% profit, it's in their best interest to not allow any other competition. Neighborhoods that argue over inches of fences and HOA colors, routinely come together to block apartments and other housing.
This holiday season, family members will be openly bragging about how their home is worth 1.7 million, which they purchased for 300k. The room full of apartment/roommate living student debt loaded will get very quiet.

There are lots of meme answers here, having spent the last couple of years trying I can tell you, it's really really hard. Companies don't want a weekend or off-hours devs. Upwork and the such are a race to the bottom. Other platforms that claim to be a better version of upwork, are much more dry. What did work? Craigslist and X. I have found two legit clients, both of whom have had me busy with return work. Both are small business owners. Small tech work, one wanted a small site that ended up morphing into a bigger project. The other I ended up setting up some python scripts to automate some ERP stuff.

Anyone who actually has experience with 18 wheelers knew this was never going to work. A lot of my extended family own or operate big rigs. I have been along for a few rides, and it is shocking the amount of focused multi tasking it takes to operate one of those leviathans. I rode for a week with an uncle in in my early 20's, I was lost in life and thought maybe being a truck driver would be a good choice.
In a single week I witnessed, multiple near fatal collision's that had my uncle not been 100% locked in to the road he would have caused. Everything from people texting on the highway at 70+ miles, a person almost crossed 4 lanes of traffic to not miss an exit, and they were applying make up at the same time, people cutting in front him with literal inches away, people don't understand the sheer weight of these vehicles and can't comprehend why they can't break like they do. Funny enough, he preferred the highways vs normal roads. Highway traffic was somewhat predictable even with all of the insane issues, but normal roads ? Try moving an 18 wheeler through a residential neighborhood (yes hn this was the only way) or pull out of a Wallmart, those were those most dangerous maneuvers.

I really wish their was more definitive studies on protein needs, based on exercise/lifestyle. All of the studies I've read tend to contradict with each other. During a phase of bodybuilding training I befriended a guy at the gym and he went on to train me.
He convinced me that I needed more protein than ever before. This guys was massive, and had success locally at competitions. So I took his advice and started to consume on average 350 grams of protein, he wanted 400 but I just couldn't do it.
I'm honestly not sure if it made a difference but I was at my most biggest, and strongest when I trained with him.

I cant tell if you are trolling or not. In case you aren't, all of your solutions involve a large amount of free time and money. Something a lot people don't have, I worked in the restaurant biz before moving to tech. It was brutal, even getting a day off to go to the doctor would cost me a large portion of my pay check. I was able to "escape" due to having a solid support system, a lot of my former coworkers did not have this.

Im on the opposite side. I worked at a restaurant for 12 years and it was the worst time of my life. I would constantly get called into work at 3 am due to random people not showing up. Inventory, dealing with 20+ people who don't care about the job. Terrible customers, and horrible people really left my bitter. To top it all off I was stresseed out of my mind and broke. Im a dev now and its deff stressful but doesn't compare to my days in a restaurant, plus I have some money now.Guess the grass is always greener
