I know I do: CoMaps is my main map app that I use basically every day and works perfectly for all of my common/normal use cases. but once in a while I have a map/nav need beyond that and then OsmAnd's customizability is great!

Plus the code that's necessary to generate the map files that OM relies on is no longer openly published. So while true that the actual app code is open source, you can't use it without relying on their proprietary map files.

That's the main draw of CoMaps to me. I also have OsmAnd installed and it's useful for more complex uses, but for a quick lookup CoMaps works a lot better for me. OsmAnd is more the swiss army knife of navigation tools, with all the complexity that means.
