the fact that these tools enable a developer to do all these things are an attribute of the tool and not the user imo. so i guess just look out for people who and learn quickly and ramp fast, nice to work with etc etc.

This paper, and solutions such as sqlcoder, and https://doris.apache.org/zh-CN/blog/Tencent-LLM etc. Which let you query DB via natural language etc.
But recently there has been a surge around MCPs being able to query databases provided the n-number of MCP servers popping up.
An example: https://www.reddit.com/r/ChatGPTCoding/comments/1jd9lfa/lear...
So I was wondering of things like the Doris blogpost, this paper and sqlcoder are still relevant/what extra does this approach offer vs trying to build a over mcp?

this is the bellcurve meme, only think has worked for me is note taking and making it easy for me to recall when i forget. I've accepted that I've bad memory and I just try to work around it, but i agree with the other comment in this thread about practice, once you practice enough it becomes sort of can switch to that way of thinking and usually that puts you in sort of the right path to recall the right thing. all this is just personal experience.
https://geekodour.org/docs/documents/notetaking/
edit: i still haven't figured out how as a kid i could remember whole chapter literally word-by-word but now I can't even properly remember a phone number. hah.

awesome to know! but disabling rls and the data api does sabotage the use of supabase auth right? (in ref. to my previous message, just confirming if my checks were correct) i actually just wanted to use supabase because how convient it was for the entire auth flow. password email, reset etc. having to manually built a ui for it is out of question but the solution I am using right now (ory/kratos) has some cli utilities so that helps but still not as good as supabase auth ui ofc. keep making it better!

I meant while using the db, i want to use sqlc and pgx with the postgres db instead of supabase api(s) that should work out right? i haven't tried but i think that should work ootb.
edit: yes that should be possible that's what op mentioned

quick aside note:
i heard great things about supabase and wanted to use it for auth. I wanted to maintain my own db, user tables etc.
but using supabase for auth, this means if need to play w RLS but i had a very simple db design and didn't want to include rls yet. supabase won't let me do it afaik.
so i switched to using ory/kratos ultimately.
also q, how heavily are we dependent on supabase ecosystem if all we want is the db?

i have my own syllabus kind of thing curated: https://geekodour.org/docs/updates/syllabi/#hb03-get-back-at...
i don't think my math problem is new. i remember after one summer vacation(we used to get one full month break in school during summers) after summer vacation i totally forgot how to do subtraction, i had difficulty subtracting 2 digit numbers. this was around 8th standard.
later this problem came up in other areas, i catch things pretty quickly but forget them faster! so the way i am currently approaching math and other problem solving is i keep in touch with everything very casually by doing minimal practice and this is good enough for me for now whenever i need to jump into more advanced stuff.
plus chatgpt/claude has been a lifesaver in this regard related to concepts but I don't think anything can beat the intuition that comes from practice. I've heard good things about math academy but idk if it'll be good for me as I don't like to do "math" on the computer and don't like quizzes much.

explore things outside tech, see what kind of problems attract you intrinsicly, explore it through trying to understand the problem/building the solution using programming as a tool.
this method had me explore deeper software engineering problem trying to solve every stuff. Since there's no deadline you can do it recreationally.
For a feel of recreationally, I really like this tscoding yt channel stream, he does long videos, pretty calming to watch.
