Agreed.
Unrelated pro-tip: wearing them while riding a motorcycle. Reduces fatigue and transforms a rough experience into almost luxurious. Highly recommended.

I developed an iOS app which detects your sleeping position and starts buzzing if you’re on your back. Similar to the tennis-ball-sewn-into-pyjama’s hack.
Apple kept refusing to approve stating medical reasons.
Still use it myself though, works great.

If you go there, and there’s a long queue, do not blindly join it but look for alternate entrances.

There must be something good about Drupal, but I was unable to discover it during the 6 months I had to work with it in 2008. The code was messy and the UI unnecessarily complicated. The most unsettling observation though, was that all the people who seemed to believe in it had no idea what they were talking about. I learnt Python, Django and PostgreSQL and never looked back.

Do you know VMDS by GE (part of Smallworld)?
It has data versioning too, using a concept called ‘alternatives’.
Do you know where DoltgreSQL and VMDS differ/overlap, functionally?
See https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/VMDS

Congratulations on launching your app.
How was the appstore approval process for you?
I made an app that helps with sleep apnea (https://snurk.app/) but Apple keeps denying my app submissions stating it’s a medical app.

ASML for one is doing a lot of innovating. And enabling others to innovate too.
Edit: yes sorry, I noticed ASML after replying. Good piece btw

Can confirm that this saved our old Samsung lcd television.
It took longer and longer to turn on. Some guy on YouTube used this hair dryer trick. So I did just that, blow the air inside the TV from below through the panels, and like magic it works again. Life hack!
Curious why it works though

Indeed. The best thing you can do is to teach them how to think for themselves, how to think freely, what is really important in life etc.
Takes a lot of time and effort but it gives them the best defense against peer pressure and ‘social media’

Blender3D for video editing is really cool.
iMovie crashed bad on me and I never got it working again. Almost paid 300 bucks for Final Cut Pro.
Then remembered that Blender had this built in. And its really good. No need to import videos into a bin or nonsense like that. Just drag them into the timeline, add filters, drag to reorder, render to mp4/aac and its done.
Best discovery of the year sofar

I’m working on a WhatsApp-but-using-email app.
Prototype on https://nyholt.gitlab.io/whatsmail/
It has not been validated by Google yet so you get a big red warning box, but its all client side code.
Basically you get the interface of WhatsApp, but the messages are plain old e-mails. No support for attachments yet, but works perfectly otherwise.
I’m using it myself, its really pleasant to use. It makes e-mail into a less formal communication method.
Made with React & Tailwindcss.
