I don't know about other countries, but in Japan, maps will show underground passages from e.g. the metro, with exit annotated with their numbers...

Unfortunately, not all numbers are shown, even when all the exits are non-overlapping at the displayed zoom level.

Phones in Japan used to receive actual TV. Well, slightly different, but still directly from the waves rather than the internet. Phones used to receive AM and FM, too.

I have both and they're surprisingly essentially the same size. Except the iPhone has less bezel and is thicker. I only have the iPhone for dev purposes and I actually prefer the Pixel 3a, but I'm afraid it might die soon...

Anyways, are you sure you're talking about the iPhone 16?

Here's the problem: pitch accent is easy to hear in isolation and/or in comparison. Under real life conditions, in the middle of a sentence, it's a completely different experience. But then you're saved by context. Because candy is most likely not falling from the sky. Homophones that are still ambiguous in context are possible, but a rare occurrence in my experience.

Somewhat more important, but as someone with decent Japanese who knows about pitch accent but can barely hear the difference in real time, and never actively learned it except for the few well known examples like bridge/chopstick, I don't think it matters all that much. Yes, you'll sound foreign. But you'll be understood nevertheless, in the vast majority of cases.

That is kind of surprising. The sqlite "unity" build, has about the same number of lines of C and takes a lot longer than that to compile.
