Musk has an affinity for figures like this, and he even had some interactions with this particular individual, who is less well-known.
https://www.politico.eu/article/belgium-far-right-prodigy-dr...
Musk tried to frame the situation as if the person was sentenced for sharing memes, but the reality involved more serious charges, including weapons-related offenses.
The same applies to the AFD. In 2022, a group called "Patriotische Union" plotted a coup to overthrow the German government, and several AFD figures were involved in the plan. To now seem him fanboying over AFD is nuts.

What illegal actions? I did some research instead of blindly following our so-called genius who claims it's against Brazilian constitutional law because Starlink is a separate entity. It actually appears to be perfectly legal and in line with the law.
"However, Brazilian law, specifically the Civil Code and the Consumer Defense Code, includes a mechanism known as "desconsideração da personalidade jurídica" (piercing the corporate veil). This legal principle allows courts to disregard the separate legal personality of a company in cases where there is evidence of fraud, misuse of the corporate form, or abuse of rights.
If an owner uses multiple companies in a way that is fraudulent or meant to evade the law, the courts can "pierce the corporate veil" and hold the owner and their other companies liable. This means that if there is a proven link between the misconduct in Company A and other companies owned by the same person, those other companies could potentially be affected."

Is the issue that they don’t provide a platform to Nazis—sometimes literally Nazis or descendants of Nazi collaborators, as we see here in mainland Europe?
I’ve seen him retweet a false narrative from a local known guy deep in the Blood, Soil, Honour, and Loyalty scene, who has made headlines for posting the most vile content imaginable even going to camps in East-Europe to "train for the race war". And when people makes him aware, he doesn't care one bit.
But that’s not even the main problem. If he claims to be a free speech absolutist, why does Twitter overlook racial slurs and violent threats but deem the word 'cisgender' problematic?

I got the chills and it made me even a bit ill. Musk reminds me so much of my abusive father. He's the victim. The fact that his child doesn't want to have anything with him is not because of his actions but something external in society. They are all against him. He is in essence fighting against injustice.
And in the end it's not about the child but the narcissism that can deal with the situation. They also tend to (ab)use it to leverage when they want something else or explain their actions.
That he had a troublesome relationship with his own father also is something typical. Some of the victims tend to go another path or seem to do the same. You also see that behaviour with sexual predators that have been abused themselves.
The only difference is my father did not have the wealth and the power to do a lot of harm, Musk really can.

It helps me to code (or helped me with mathematical concepts that I find difficult to implement or would take me a lot of time) but then again I use it for generating mainly graphics related code in Blender or as part of a grasshopper script so the code doesn't that much as the correct output.
That being said, I often come in a situation that its not the code that is bad but the solution. Where I need to tell the LLM that it's not logical to do it in a certain way leveraging on my own knowledge.

I've noticed that when using a language model for rephrasing text it also sometimes seem to miss important details because it clearly has no real understanding of the text.
It's not a problem when you are aware of it and with some follow up input you can get it mitigated, but often I see that people tend to take the first output of these systems at face value. People should be a bit more critical in that regards.

You should really read the book “How democracies die” for some insights and signals how it begins.
Maybe it’s because I’m from Europe and there are numerous examples (Germany, Spain, Italy,…) how it starts, but there is no single bone in my body that does not think that Trump has the same traits. (Not that the solution should be violence)
And the problem is that “the shining city upon the hill” is dimming and it’s becoming more and more a bad example for other countries. I never ever would think to live in an age that political parties would question if we should throw basic human rights in the trash while dealing with people we don’t want.

The situation in Europe is worsening rapidly, and it's not just in Greece—it's a trend across several countries. The rise of nationalist parties has increased the influence of corporate lobbies as well.
Migrants frequently bear the brunt of blame in this environment. Additionally, there's a troubling misuse of subsidies and tax breaks, with funds often channelled to companies who exploit them solely to boost their profits, rather than fulfilling their intended benefits.
Certainly, in Belgium, this issue is significant. We allocate billions in tax breaks for research and innovation, yet politicians sometimes appear at technology fairs showcasing outdated VR technology as if it were still groundbreaking in 2014. Now, they are using lag in the development of AI as a way to justify new tax breaks, all the while proposing cuts to social benefits.

In Belgium, the "loonnormwet" or "wage norm law" controls how much workers are paid to ensure the country stays competitive. Jobs are also classified into pay scales based on their type and the qualifications needed.
This means that even if technical jobs are in high demand, if you have a lower educational degree — which is often the case — you might not earn much more because of it. As a result, these jobs may not attract many job seekers.
This situation creates a cycle where lower wages make these jobs less desirable, which can lead to difficulties in finding enough qualified workers. Now, business lobby groups like VOKA are considering bringing in immigrants from Mexico and India to fill these lower-paying positions.

I don't think this has a lot to do with the open source spirit but the fact that competitors like Bambulab are eating their lunch. That seems to rub them the wrong way.
I also see a lot of FUD from the Prusa community regarding that particular brand, where you can't claim it's a 1:1 Prusa clone. Even the remarks from Josef Prusa about speed or noise are targeted to the X1C or P1P printers while if you want to talk about clones and copying there are brands out there that fits the bill better e.g. Sovol 06.
The part where you can only sell "consumables" that must be verified by Prusa also has zero to do with open source or freedom.
