From India - with thousands of local dialects and hundreds of mother tongues. Linguistic diversity is beautiful but it's a moving thing. It not only survived internet, it got surfaced and exposed by it. I doubt LLM will have any irreversible impact on linguistic diversity.

Hardcoded feature flags becomes a big issue if your release process is long and error prone. Original article also suggest to enhance incrementally. But you don't want the interval between increments to be too big.

Something may look obvious to you unless you get into definitions (stage 1), discussions about definitions (stage 2), trying to get alignment on definitions (stage 3), and so on.

As I am going through the article, I was wondering why is this more interesting than having the ability to recover java programs from byte code. So I asked copilot the same question. It told me that - "Honestly this is where the difference between an engineer and researcher shows up!" .

I am happy that Chess is getting its own home on internet. This also basically means hundreds of sites will have to migrate their broken references to fide.com (to fide.chess) and other authoritative sites.

Depending upon whether its a temporary change or recurring change or permanent one, I would say get comfortable with instant feedbacks/changes/enhancements, thinking from user's point of view (non-negotiable) and more frequent releases.

If you are supposed to stay on frontend for long, then it is critical that you learn DOM fundamentals, even propagation, caching, browser storage, layouts, etc.

Vibe coding is absolutely okay, just pace yourself to build only what is absolutely required (spend time on refining this) and don't get carried away too much with what claude can do.

Completely agree with it.

It is already understandable if you are producing only required and necessary features. Understandability can be managed by scope control and not getting carried away with being able to produce more and more features.

I believe engineering teams will be working on trying to optimize for more engineering accountability in coming years, as the reality is catching up.

Information processing might be part of intelligence cycle. I don't think there should be a presumption that intelligence is part of information processing system itself, it could be outside the information processing system as well.

For example computers have been processing information for decades now, but only recently they have been almost-successfully accused of having (artificial) intelligence.

Intelligence was applied while writing the programs which process information (outside or before system even boots up), not while executing those programs.

Its only now with LLMs (and agents based on LLMs) we are noticing that systems can do intent extraction, intent management, and ReAct to it.
