> That's because it's not your computer, it is Microsoft's ;-)
I think it is because allowing the key to be disabled will make Microsoft look dumb for adding the key in the first place!

I hope Elon Musk can take a lesson from Mercedes. Tesla went in the other direction: there are barely any physical buttons to remove, so they removed the stalks for signaling and even for changing gear! You have to use the touch screen to shift gears!

With Windows Update what I really want is control over reboot. Don't automatically reboot, instead let me save documents, close applications and reboot manually. "Pausing" updates doesn't do that, and could be dangerous as urgent security updates are delayed.
With AI features, the most annoying thing has to be the Copilot key on my laptop keyboard. If you accidentally hit it it opens a Copilot window, interrupting your typing. The Settings app for this key only allow you to specify whether it activates search or copilot, it doesn't let you turn it off. There are other workarounds like installing an app from the Store, but all those workarounds come with unwanted excess baggage.

The credit for DeepSeek, in part, goes to US companies such as OpenAI [1] and DeepSeek [2]. Portions of DeepSeek are based on their products.
[1] https://www.reuters.com/world/china/openai-accuses-deepseek-...
[2] https://x.com/AnthropicAI/status/2025997928242811253

In the chat box I typed my SSN is "123-45-6789". It filled it in in the wrong box (4 Exemptions).
What problem is this solving? Isn't it easy enough to just click in the correct box and type the values?
How does this compare to Claude Cowork?

Musk answered, “Partly.”
Distillation has become an increasingly important issue as companies like OpenAI and Anthropic have complained that Chinese companies are distilling their systems.
