<p>Stillwell's books are very good, as are Courant/Robbins What is Math and Ian Stewart's several books(one with David Tall as collaborator).  My dad gifted me What is Math in grade school and i return to it every couple of years.</p>

<p>Will take awhile for liquidity to build, just look at volume candles on /ES contract, really not much during Asian trading session<p>24 hour trading is avail on brokers like IBK, webull, hood, etrade, Schwab (short lists of tickers, but useful ones, QQQ, SPY SMH etc).  If you're looking at just ARca's order book, liquidity is pretty thin overnight before 4am EST</p>

Also spend time on fretless bass/guitar, pedal/lap steel doing ... stuff.</p>

<p>This is a complex set of constraints, and people in Arizona, Nevada and Colorado etc have different perspectives on this. <p>Don't give up on mainline, but branch out to small/medium bus ops.  You have to go to as many meetups as you can, perfect your elevator pitch, make github and online presence look nice, etc.<p>One niche, there's lots of people looking for help coding stock/futures trading apps in sierra chart, ninja and multi trader, etc.  These are in c++, c#/framework, python, mostly.<p>On the latter, work your network, seek out busines owners/managers who are in need of IT/web/database/email list type work and have people vouch for your tech cred/integrity (very important)</p>
