None of those are true.
Those are lies spread by the mainstream media (which is mostly controlled by leftists) and you are a victim for believing them.
I know that the HN crowd are left-leaning and I'm going to be downvoted like hell. Maybe even flagged, because apparently leftist platforms like censorship.
But I don't have to prove my point nor there is a need to argue.
My point will be proven in the coming months because as time goes by you guys will see that nothing bad will happen to democracy nor women's rights or anything else important. Economy and public health is going to improve among many other things.
You will see. Just pay attention.
Then maybe you will remember and regret downvoting me.
Oh, also: Listen to what the man is saying himself. Not what the mainstream media says he is saying. Try to see past merely Trump & his public image as well. Pay attention to what the people on his team are saying. Great people like RFK Jr, Tulsi, Vivek, and JD. Maybe you will find yourself to be enlightened.
Peace.

I agree with the sentiment, but don't appreciate the way you put it (lacks nuance). I think it is obvious that developing custom design systems can sometimes give companies a competitive advantage, hence there might be a non-zero value here. Heavily depends on the product and the target audience.
In any case, the market has your answers. So many people are doing their own design systems. Can all this effort be caused by merely arrogance? There ought to be something else reinforcing this behavior.

> I think having a central database that directly interfaces with multiple applications is an enormous source of technical debt and other risks, and unnecessary for most organizations.
I think that the operative word here is "over time". So what is meant is not necessarily supporting many applications at the same time, but rather serially.
So the message is supposed to be: Apps come and go as they can be rewritten for so many reasons, but there will be a lot less reasons to redesign / replace a "valuable" database.

Thank you for the feedback, but all I meant was that "I'm happy to travel to anywhere in the world". I'm only looking for contract jobs (as communicated near the end of my post) and that's why I mentioned visits. I've revised the language of the "willing to relocate" item of my post to make my situation clearer.

I'm sure it can't match the flexibility & features your program offers, but a hacker's way would be providing that functionality via a one liner targeting their database. Assuming that dbs.txt contains a list of connection strings and migration.sql contains a set of SQL commands, an example for Postgres would be:

 cat dbs.txt | xargs -I% sh -c 'cat migration.sql | sed "1ibegin;" | sed "\$arollback;" | psql %'

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to shit on your product; just wanted to share the way I accomplish basically the same goal. Congrats on your release and hope it gets the attention it deserves.
