Apple has paid out about $20 million dollars in their security bounty program, and a good portion of that must be iOS-related, so much so that they offer dedicated iOS devices to researchers.
iPhones have been jailbroken by visiting a webpage, receiving a message, or joining a WiFi network.
Just about every single iOS release is patching a vuln that was reported or found in the wild being exploited.
So, really, is the "furthest iOS malware" concern being 3rd party tracking a genuine statement?

I'd love to see the stats on the "quality" of comments over time.
Quality is subjective, but I'd put some qualifiers such as:
1. Grammar and spelling
2. Length of comment
3. Relevance to previous comment and subject matter
4. Lifetime of account
5. Posts per account
Obviously these can all be gamed, but might be interesting to see potential trends, because while it's a real trope to mention it, the quality of discourse seems to be falling off a cliff.

This definitely reads similar to how my body reacted, as if it was under some sort of constant invisible stress.
Constantly hot and sweating, stomach muscles tight, and the feeling of an ever-present fear of something / anything happening.
Once I was able to attribute it to work, and address some of it, things started regulating themselves, but it took a long time; and still isn't complete.

I’ve been using Fedora since release ~30 on desktop and laptop, previously a Debian user for like 15 years.
I think it switched cause I wanted Wayland and more recent Gnome at the time. Everything more or less always seems to work without issue, I’ve done upgrades, swapped out hardware over the years and never had any show-stopping bugs.
More recently I became a package maintainer and it’s been an excellent process, from the documentation to the community. I used to be weary of RPM and the “dependency hell” but it’s not really a thing anymore.
I like picking the right tool for the job, and so far Fedora has worked out well in this regard, but Ubuntu, MacOS, Windows, etc all have their place.

To note, the monthly security updates DivestOS provides don't (can't?) include baseband and such "firmware" updates for legacy OEM-unsupported versions of Android.
Don't get me wrong, it's terrific that security patches are backported to such ancient versions of Android by those working on DivestOS and it's a great option for devices that aren't supported by GrapheneOS, LineageOS, et al.

No it isn't, AOSP is open source (it's right in the name) and there are projects like CalyxOS, GrapheneOS, and LineageOS which make it extremely easy for anyone on HN to get away from having Apple or Google on their mobile devices.
