I mean, I’m just saying the danger exists (which is what “real” means to me) and people should be aware of it. Not that people shouldn’t dig big holes. I thought that was clear in my original comment but evidently not.

I’m in the same age bracket and hole-digging enthusiasm bracket as you but recently became aware of the dangers of this whimsical pastime! [1]
That’s not to dissuade you or anyone else from doing it (I have continued!), but I think everyone should be aware of the very real danger.
Let’s just take 95% as a true figure … first of all the 5% you don’t get back is a straight up loss. The rewards you get at the end of the month are fine (eg cash back) but you’ve missed out on earning interest on the money you “get back”

I throw it on the charger for 30 minutes while I work in the evening. Works great, and as others have noted, that’s usually enough to get through 2 nights.
It charges pretty quickly; quickly enough in my experience that even if I forget to charge it one day and I find it dead at an inconvenient time, I can usually throw it in a charger for long enough to get through the rest of the day without much inconvenience. I’ve had my series 5 for about 18 months and in that time, only once have I had it die on me when I was trying to use it.
If I ever go back to working in an office, my use pattern might change, but for the most part I think the inconvenience of charging daily is overstated.
Edit: It also will notify you 1 hour before your configured bedtime if it doesn’t have enough juice to get through the night. I thought this was silly when they announced it but in practice it is great.

FWIW there are third-party software options for the Touch Bar such as MTMR (my touch bar, my rules), which at least allows you to activate the haptic feedback in the trackpad when touch bar buttons are pressed. I found that it helped dramatically with accidental touch bar presses.
MTMR also solves the other main problem with the Touch Bar which is that it hides brightness and volume controls behind a tap (so you can't, for example, instantly mash "volume down" when you find it is unexpectedly loud.) With MTMR (and others I believe) you can make multi-touch gestures on the bar to adjust volume and brightness swiftly.
All that said, I'm not convinced that the touch bar adds enough value to justify its cost. If your day-to-day computer use includes tasks it is good it, maybe. As a developer, probably not.
Just my $0.02 as a touchbar-skeptic-cum-macbook-owner.

I think you've already gotten lots of feedback on pricing -- One thing I didn't see mentioned is that your website lacks a pricing page. Yes, you indicate the subscription price, and you hide a little note that says you can try it for free first... but here in the comments you said you have a "generous free tier" -- it would be useful to see information about that tier on your website.
All that said, I'll join the chorus of skeptics over the $100/yr price. Apparently you have people willing to pay that, which is great, and hopefully a sign that you have built a good product -- maybe we on HN are just a bunch of cheap, cynical bastards.
