I've wanted something like this for a long time and finally built it over the weekend after seeing a tweeet about LLM memory.
Perchpad is a collaborative real-time Markdown editor where your workspace is just a folder of flat .md and .csv files, version-controlled with Git.
Key things:
Git-native storage, your workspace is plain files. git clone them, download as zip, or just edit locally. No proprietary format lock-in.
Deep LLM support. hook it up to Claude as persistent memory/context. The LLM integration is fairly capable for drafting and editing within docs.
Web based real-time multiplayer – full collaborative editing, multiple cursors, the usual.
Text-to-speech longform read-aloud with decent voice options.
The idea is that your notes and docs should be portable plain text first, collaborative second, and AI-augmented third — not the other way around.
Would really appreciate any feedback. Happy to answer questions here.
https://perchpad.co

Linux Desktop got so much better in recent years but it also stayed the same. If you’re trying to be productive and not just switching between editor and terminal windows there are still endless frustrations that never end.

Yes many things actually.
- A mac app to generate to read text as playlists from openai tts api (my gf can't use the api)
- A automatic visual scraper that can get arbitray information from any website (e.g go to target and get the top 3 milk prices or get the licensing information from this opensource project)
- An ETL tool (called tabmaster) that can sync arbitrary json apis into postgres tables. with automatic schema inference and deduplication logic
- A really good OCR tool that enriches scanned PDFs with accurate words and not the bs that adobe ships
all really useful and used daily.
EDIT: formatting

Hi, co-founder of markets.sh here.
While building our financial research and company database, we have gathered quite a bit of information on public and private companies.
Right now, it has basic data like descriptions, recent prices, financials, news (with summaries and sentiment), and some financial ratios.
We have limited the free points for now, but you can write in the support chat or via the contact form, and I'll credit some more.
I would appreciate any feedback or feature requests

we have a permanent stream of news running through the system, we are comparing this with the queries, determining if there are special extra sources needed and then check it as new i formation comes in. for things like stock price alerts we store those as sql with a different engine.
it’s definitely work in progress but very useful fir us internally already. will be integrated in our chat system next week
