I try to selfhost most of my stuff I rely on. Immich, Vaultwarden, etc. I gave up on trying to selfhost sync solutions for Obsidian - Obsidian Sync is just so damn frictionless compared to all other solutions. Also, it feels good supporting the development of Obsidian.

It works just fine, but every time you open the app you have to dismiss a dialog saying that the app doesn't work without Google Play Services installed.

That’s exactly how I do it. I enjoy reading DRM-free epubs on my Kobo, and whenever I finished a book I enjoyed, I buy it from the local sci-fi bookshop. I buy about 90% of all books I read.

How's Librem as a daily driver? Battery life, camera, reception/calls etc? I'm eager to get a proper Linux phone, but got burned by the awful performance of Pinephone.

As a Wayland user with an oled screen I very much appreciate the coming wayland support. I haven’t found any good lock screen solution that doesn’t risk burn-in for wayland yet.

As always with supplements, a deficiency might cause the issue (cramps in this case) and the supplement gets you back to normal levels, preventing cramps. If you’re experiencing cramps but don’t have a magnesium deficiency, taking magnesium supplements won’t make the cramps go away.

You literally just change an URL in a config file. The config file is available by just connecting your Kobo by USB to your computer. Super simple and quite surprising.

It works - amazing - with Calibre actually. I set up Calibre-Web-Automated last week and setup my Kobo Libra 2 to sync with my Calibre server (swapping one url in a config file), and now my Kobo acts like my self hosted Calibre server is the actual Kobo Store, meaning I can browse and download all of my books. I think it syncs reading progress too.

A big plus imo is that you can check in and version control the files alongside your application. Very convenient when working on micro services in a team.

I've been using Fenix 5 and then Fenix 7 for many years now and I don't recognize any of the points you're making. I might agree on the awful charging port, but that's fixed by getting one of the cheap charging "pads" from Amazon.
