My last employer had a monthly Day of Learning where you could study whatever you want (so long as you could sort of tie it back to work). It was great. They’d organize presentations from employees but you could spend the whole day essentially however you wanted.

My last employer had a very generous moonlighting policy. You could absolutely use their hardware.

I definitely don’t think they’re generally worthwhile and don’t subscribe myself, but my in laws have had excellent luck with their policy.

I bought a fixer upper a few years ago. It was a solid six month stretch of various projects of various sizes rushing to be done before my child was born. Since then it’s been very chill, though I did just spend about another six months renovating a bathroom down to the studs myself, but I took that upon myself for the thrill of it.

Yep, I debated mentioning home warranty services, but that is also a thing a lot of folks surprisingly don’t know about.

Of course that’s a benefit of renting. How does that relate to the OP _homeowner_ saying one downside of ownership is they don’t have a single number to call for any maintenance issues?

If the buyer wants to move in, isn’t that a just cause for eviction? If the new buyer just wants it as a rental, sure, carry on.

The world is dynamic, so sure, it will always be true in some technical sense. But I am confident that eventually we’ll have trained them on enough scenarios that novelty will have a smaller and smaller effect on their ability to safely navigate through the world.

It’s definitely a thing humans do a lot in certain places. Perhaps where you live, it isn’t as much of an issue, so naturally you and nobody you know has encountered it.

I’m not so sure about it being a waste of money. I got an almost full ride 15 years ago because of their generous financial aid program, that had only expanded. And time? Are all college programs a waste of time in your opinion, because of AI?
