interesting, the notation also implies 2005 and 2010 A.D and not B.C, or maybe the notation is about exactly A.D? either way, interesting choice if it was intentional. we say “year 515” without disambiguation right

i don't write shorthand -- i type really fast on my keyboard, summarizing what everyone said. i've had compliments about how efficient i am at doing this, so i imagine it's not a widespread skill. i believe this to be very trainable though, thus my post.

a good question, my line of thinking was: if llvm allows easy ports to freebsd, why is freebsd always a lower tier than linux in llvm based projects?
weak reasoning, as it might just be a supply/demand and not a product quality question

what i am pondering is: is it easier in theory to port swift to freebsd rather than linux? the facts that macOs has shared history with freebsd tells me yes, the fact that llvm favors linux (?) tells me both.
also, congrats, the swift and freebsd are ambitious in terms of new deployment platforms and compatibility! (see embedded swift, oci freebsd containers, freebsd on firecracker)

compared to the majority of consumer laptops, doesn’t apple have an exceptional track record on this topic?
their software-hardware design philosophy is unmatched in the consumer space i would say. the fact that the transition from intel chips to arm chips went as smooth as it did is a testament to my point.
of course, they are not perfect.
