yes you do, the control plane is closed. Only reverse engineered by the headscale project. The control plane is necessary for the peers to find each other. If you need to rely on such a crucial part being reverse-engineered, than yes, I think it's fair to say you are ultimately relying on commercial entities.

I don't have your problems with ipv6, and I'm actively using it.

I don't have to rely on extra commercial entities to be able to reach my network.

I did have a problem with hosting my own shit because my ISP by default does cgnat. That cost me an hour of my life to convince a party to give what used to be normal, end to end connectivity.

Nothing is stopping your router which does RA to also work in tandem with an internal dns server that can do hostnames for you mapped to slaac addresses.

The sleep and hibernate issues keep plagueing me for close to 20y now. I still deal with them and realize it's still a better experience overall compared to windows

It stands out, because it didn't sell. Which is weird because there were some pretty big pros about using them. The latency for updating 1 byte was crazy good. Some databases or journals for something like zfs really benefited from this.

The push from google feeds to go to these sites is absurd. The quality is garbage, they're probably using LLMs heavily themselves.

I just saw a merge request created with Claude from a colleague without software engineering background. Let's just say I will have more work to do than less.

Software validation was always the interesting part vs software verification. Validation asks the question, did you build what was actually necessary?

I think most brands are being hammered in the netherlands. The tax climate for eletric company leased cars is not good compared to extremely good just a couple of years ago.

Shouldn't you have concerns picking Claude 4.6 for your next project if it produces subpar elixer code? Cheapy shot perhaps, but I have a feeling exotic languages will remain more exotic longer now that LLM aided development is becoming the norm.
