Notice how they included cans in new goals. Over 60% of aluminum used in beverage cans comes from recycling just because it's a profitable business practice. They can claim ridicules percentages of recycling just by lumping cans and bottles together, even though most of it comes from material that was never a problem.

Used batteries themselves are not that much of a problem, because most of their value is in raw minerals used to make them. Recycling them is basically the same as processing raw metal ore, except the concentration of valuable stuff is much higher than in any natural deposit.

The standardized energy consumption stickers, EU mandates are really useful and a huge selling point in shops around me. I was shopping for new kitchen appliances this year and haven't heard a single customer asking about features or smart functions but everyone was comparing design, noise levels, and energy usage in that order. These stickers make it really easy.

I bet it's an inside joke, like Lenna.jpeg. Some outdated / test / dead-end, or otherwise harmless project put there as a wink to everyone involved in the industry. Maybe it's something an intern ruined on his first day and made entire lab work on for three weeks without realizing?

I did something similar using Raspberry Pi 2040 - it pretends to be a USB keyboard, opens browser using 0xf0 key, types in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ and press play after connecting to the PC.
