The closest approximation to Olo colored paint you can buy is also by the company that makes some of the blackest black paint. I haven't used it personally.

Having this work on Apple metal is huge for the accessibility around training splats. I remember two years ago I needed an RTX Nvidia GPU to run things like splatfacto on nerfstudio. Very neat optimizations as well like the depth map and sky dome, 3dgs has come a long way. Awesome!

A small dense planet, which orbits a star, is orbited by a larger gaseous moon. It's interesting the discovery is in Chile which has some of the best night skies, a Class 1 on the Bortle scale specifically in the Atacama Desert. Hoping to make it out there one day.

Hi Vincent, the Sutro Tower 3dgs demo is one I enjoyed a lot. I'd whip it out on my phone and show people saying, 'hey look this is whats possible with 3D Gaussian Splatting'. And this Grace Catherdral splat is stunning. It showcases one of my favorite parts of 3dgs which is reflections and glass. The color and essence of the stained glass comes through so well.
The cutaway Peek feature is like a sci fi version of an Stephen Biesty's Incredible Cross-Sections book. Incredible work!

The harnesses will tend towards commoditization, but for now the harness quality matters a lot. Especially for non terminal harnesses.

DVD-Audio vs SACD was one of those strange format wars where there was no winner arguably, both lost to MP3s and later music streaming. But SACD is making a comeback lately. I’m not sure if it will ever be as popular as vinyl but physical media is really having a revival. SACD being developed by Sony and Philips may have something to do with its longevity compared to DVD audio which was developed by an industry consortium, plus it has a much cooler logo

Who is going to hack together a mac widget that allows us to select text anywhere, press a shortcut key and finally get a non robotic voice outputted in a reasonable amount of time?
I am aware of the Option + Esc shortcut on osx for the onboard TTS but wow is it hard to listen to in 2026.

When the harnesses commoditize, it will be the dynamic things like skills that will be the most valuable, useful thing you can bring to a harness. That seems like a long ways away though. There are still meaningful performance differences between agent harnesses.

“America is in decline” is the consensus view. America dominating on all fronts is the contrarian view. I expect these views to swing like a pendulum in public discussion until something meaningful happens or until it’s clear in the rearview that America is in fact is more like UK, Japan, or Germany.
