This is actually a reasonable workflow. Although requires some preparation. I’ll try it out!

I also branch out, and rebase. Also, keep updating and rebasing until merged. It’s tedious when PR take ages for approval, as I keep creating new branches on top of each other.
So, when I saw this announcement seemed interesting but don’t see the point of it yet.

Can we start appreciating and respecting other people's professional experiences without dismissing and criticising them?
It's well written and brought to light a very interesting subject, e.g. "Marshall’s research showed that just 15-20% of riflemen in active combat positions ever fired their weapons".

Fear of missing out, network effect, etc.
I personally never opened an account, do remember seeing ex-colleagues exaggerating their job descriptions, titles, etc It looks quite fake to me. But I wonder what could have happened to me if I had an account 10, 15 and 18 years ago.

No, it's different. A "toast" is a floating element, a "push notification" which is detached from the panel, e.g. can disappear quite quickly. The banner is placed closest to the context where the action is triggered, e.g. might require the user to close it. If you have some disability, e.g. cognitive, visual or motor, it's likely to be easier to perceive the information. When a user creates an "issue", the "issue item" is displayed in the list, meaning that you won't need a secondary notification process.
