What do you think of modern open-source codebases presently available to the public? Is closed-source/proprietary code that much better?

Tracking model performance on Artificial Analysis makes me think these models are constantly optimized/tuned in some way or another. GPT 5.5 was scoring in the mid 60's when it was first released, now it's almost 10 points higher.

Seems like OpenAI's strategy to release models after Anthropic has been paying off.

Is it just me, or does it seem like Anthropic has been more of a pioneer the past few years, and OpenAI tries to copy features they like?

Noise complaints are for <10% of data centers. In the case of Loudoun, they did a good job building it to be under the county's 55 dB threshold. They followed the the standards, and still they're trying to diminish noise out of respect for residents.

Prince William/Greak Oak data center from Amazon had protests since 2022 over buzzing/whirring. Amazon said it was installing acoustic shrouds, and idk any further updates.

The one case that I'd acknowledge really needs fixing is Microsoft's Mount Pleasant.

Cool point re: propranolol:

Exercise increases heart rate. The more we exercise, the more the heart gets used to that adrenergic stimulation. This decreases the number of receptors to sense adrenaline in the heart, so whenever adrenaline rises again into the system, like in public speaking, we can handle it much better.

Exercise mitigates public-speaking anxiety. Particularly prolonged cardio.

Artificial Analysis says GPT-5.5 xhigh scores highest on AA-Omniscience accuracy. The article focuses on rate instead of overall accuracy. Those are different things: a model can answer more questions correctly overall while still being worse at abstaining when wrong.

Curiously, this post and article is the only submission and interaction the OP has made, and these claims support the product he's intending to release.

Well, wind and solar were absolutely subsidy-driven. The difference is that after subsidies, they became cheap and modular, and I hope nuclear becoming modular and cheaper as well.

Rancho Seco.... what an insane story. Didn't know about that. So if your have a bad nuclear project, people are basically stuck with it, unlike replacing solar panels or wind turbines.

The estimated levelized cost of electricity changes dramatically with financing cost: from roughly the low-$100s/MWh under cheap capital to well above $200/MWh under high capital-cost assumptions. But wasn't that the case for wind and solar too?

That's precisely the CCP brainwashing: the data centers in question were actually VERY clean, and would give the communities a ton of jobs.

This happens all the time for people with agendas: pollution fear mongering for projects that are actually super clean and useful.

Seen it happen in real life, many times.

You're right. I wrote a bad response at midnight. I meant to say something more narrow and specific: genomic assessments and new biomarker tests will become affordable and add information.

For example, single nucleotide polymorphisms. This way doctors spend less time guessing which medication is likely to work best for you when there are many options available.

That's precisely where medicine is headed: personalized medicine.

You [hopefully] won't have to become a rare missed diagnosis because you didn't fit the demographic for this or that screening test.

Cost of genomic analysis is exponentially decreasing, and so much progress is happening so quickly.

Consider for example how in cardiology we advanced from ASCVD's 10-yr prognosis, to the PREVENT 30-yr prognosis. And still most providers are using the ASCVD score for their patients.

I think I see the problem: you don't seem to believe in objective truth. For example: you are a human, not a banana.

Basic morals are built into humans. Some become desensitized to it over time.

Objective truth: murder is evil, torturing the innocent is evil, destroying innocent lives is evil.

Be glad you're in the free world, where you can do whatever you want. China and similar countries are not like the free world. The specific part that doesn't fly is lying to the public, and trying to intimidate them to deny the well-documented truth (see the chatgpt link I posted, which information you can manually verify). The American spirit fights for freedom and liberty.
