This is really an interesting area that doesn't get too much light. I've sat in one of the mentioned living rooms in the Upper East Side that housed these types of antiquities. I won't name them, but they were raided and had over 70 items removed because they were stolen from their original location.

It was quite odd to see; they had a massive database containing pictures, values and auction histories of all their items in FileMaker Pro. You walked in their apartment and you were greeted with a table (itself an antiquity) containing statues of African origin as well as some of marble from Europe. Large format paintings from the 1500s-1600s lined the walls of the living room I was allowed to walk through - they were very protective of where I was able to walk in my capacity of "IT guy".

I'm intrigued by these TUI posts I see, but I'm wondering how everyone uses more then one at a time. Do you all keep multiple terminal windows or tabs open with these apps all day or just open these TUI apps when needed?

But the author wouldn't get clicks if they wrote a more truthful and less clickbaity headline, such as "My computer doesn't work since I upgraded to 26.3 and I have no idea why".

RIP. I still have a few Tekserve totes around - one of the many awesome quirks of the store. They were great pre-Apple Store for repairs and purchases - make an appointment, describe your problem, bring your device in, and get it repaired some-what quickly and at not a terrible price. It wasn't as cheap as Applecare repairs, but it fixed your expensive fancy computer.

I worked on the same block in NYC for 12 years. Not once was the street ever scaffolding free. Better yet, as described in the article, scaffolding would be up for years in front of buildings. So much so that you just got used to it and when it came down, the building facade and building itself that were uncovered were a pleasant surprise to see again.

These planes that we sell, not just the F-35, all come with a bevy of support from US folks. I have friends and family that travel that globe, visiting US allies, in order to support, train, and meet with counterparts in the respective countries to assist their use of US aircraft they purchase. These friends and fmaily also get flown around if there are any accidents or investigations involving these planes. The F-35 is just the next step in the "subscription service".

I got the spam message with racist words and then this email:

My boss has a few neighbors who are Nvidia and former Nvidia employees and they're all driving their shiny, fancy sports cars and such and living the high life thanks to the stock they got. It doesn't surprise me they're having churn and / or retiring cutting in to their workforce. Probably not enough to be substantial, but enough to count for something.

There is a whole world of space patch collecting and whatnot. The different companies and sometimes mistakes make some patches worth more then others. Of course, flown patches also still collect a nice sum. Me and my father own a large number of flown patches and "beta cloth" patches.

Growing up, I bought an Apollo 9 patch on ebay that I liked. I shortly after got an email from none other then John Bisney who said it was a variety he had never seen before and offered me a small sum for it. As a kid still using dial-up, it was quite the experience at the time!

The repo for the iOS app has not been updated in months so the new company that purchased the app last year (and was known at the time to be sketchy) has clearly made whatever changes behind the scenes.

Ah yes, if there was documentation, it would specify that a Hilton key card should be used. Otherwise, a Hyatt or Westin key card being used may cause an incorrect check result of the door seal and cause possible loss of life.

After using and maintaining Screenconnect for many years, this kind of thing is no surprise. Up until the past year or two, you literally had to generate MFA codes manually and copy and paste them on a user by user basis to one giant webpage. Most of this kind of authentication seemingly was text / database based. For example, we had a list of 800 users who had access to their personal machines and when making changes, you could see their passwords in clear text (because we as admins had to set them).
