Smoking lowers the risk of developing ulcerative colitis and can suppress its symptoms. There's a lot of anecdotal stories on Reddit of people quitting smoking and getting an UC flare.

> it's clearly safer than smoking

There's a lot of anti-vaping FUD in the Oz media right now. Anecdotally a lot of people I speak with view it as more harmful than smoking. And legislation has made it extremely unpleasant and inconvenient to obtain low-nic vapes that don't taste like ass.

Fortunately every second convenience store sells high-nic illegal vapes under the counter, with $deity knows what chemicals inside. Yay?

Yeah but the transition is rough. For example when we have autonomous vehicles what are all those drivers going to do. You might saw "tough luck" but we are a society not just an economy.

> Will the setting icon be three dots?

Multiple hamburger menus with a scattering of cryptic icons stuck at arbitrary places on the screen. What does the swirly icon with up arrow do? No text label for you!

Oh and let's move the next button to the top left of the screen and not highlight it. Mmmm that's some good UI design.

In creativity, unless you are a savant it takes grinding to increase your ability to match your taste.

If you started very young, then bravo, the grinding is out of the way and you were likely to be able to focus on the fun parts and have fewer distractions.

If you're starting as an adult, then it's gonna take some grit to get to a level you're satisfied with.

Corporate and education is infested with Oracle due to an army of salesdroids and large technical platform decisions being made by upper mgmt instead of infra staff.

I've also observed that Oracle stack people generally don't have experience with other platforms, so push it in whatever org they're working for.

>I feel like hunting down drivers hasn't been an issue on Linux for any relatively modern machine I've run in over 10 years.

Try installing any Debian flavor on an Intel Mac. Keyboard, mouse, bluetooth, wifi drivers all incredibly hard to get working. Need to perform some voodoo extracting the drivers from a MacOS image then making them available during boot.

Rails provides a sensible and productive pattern for MVP but doesn't provide much guidance past a certain complexity level (Service Objects etc). Once the app grows past a certain size, more bespoke architecture needs to be applied and this will live or die on the competence of the team. Spaghetti code is not inevitable but can result from devs who are used to the hand-holding of less complex Rails apps.

Dunno where you are pulling docker from, that is completely orthogonal to Rails development.

Trying to setup chronological podcast playback on the Apple Podcast is horrible, and they are constantly fiddling with the terrible UI. I just want to binge 5 consecutive episodes of a history podcast, but everything in the UI tries to funnel you into listening to the latest episode of multiple podcasts.
