It's Ireland. Europe generally has higher expectations of the behavior of companies. The 'unapologetic and robotic' style of communication is very American. It literally costs nothing to be a bit kinder. They spend a fortune building their image as a great place to work then nuke it when the going gets tough.

Not that anyone should believe all that 'we're a family' garbage anyway, for any company.

I pity those who missed out on those tech golden decades of the 80's and 90's. The very idea of email was revolutionary. Getting news on demand while others waited for newspaper deliveries or set time TV shows was thrilling.

This is probably why Weird Science is one of my favorite films, because it captures that period where imaginations ran wild. The simple video games were fine as we used our imagination to fill in the gaps.

Tech these days has long lost it's magic. The 'AI' boom tried to recreate the buzz with nonsensical claims that it has failed to deliver. It's all smoke and mirrors these days.

I think the last time I was truly wowed was when Shazam appeared. That was 23 years ago.

I watched the documentary. It was terribly low quality, filled with rumors and hearsay, and featured once prominent UK politicians and BBC newscasters. It truly stunk of British propaganda. Not surprising for the BBC.

Why is this a surprise to the author? At no point in the history of social media has anything been organic. They are fully controlled, for-profit, social manipulation/propaganda ecosystems.

So it looks like animal charities are out then. A local shelter was my chosen charity. Saying that, I only generated $70 of donations with 300 orders so it wasn't much, but every little helps.

The fact that they're axing this at a time of mass layoffs makes me think they're not telling the truth.

Transgender identities rely on society simply believing that they exist, as there is no scientific proof of someone being ‘transgender’. The same goes to transracial and transspecies. We’re supposed to just be nice and accept everything everyone says and never assume ulterior motives, mental illness, or just plain falsehoods.

I don't supplement and have been vegan for a decade, and a vegetarian for 5 years before that. My yearly blood tests show everything has been fine since day one. I eat what most people do, just the vegan version. Luckily plant-based meat alternatives are everywhere these days.

A lot of the nutritional misinformation out there is deliberate to scare people off. It's not a conspiracy theory to say that the meat and dairy industries spend millions promoting their products and scaring people off vegetarian and vegan diets.

My advice is to watch the documentary Forks Over Knives and maybe read the corresponding book, The China Study. I personally avoid vegan websites and groups as their meals are super complicated to make. I don't have time for that.

Map out your fave meals then looks at how to make them vegan. It's super easy and you really don't have to worry about nutrients etc. People have been desperately searching for some nutrient that negates a vegan diet, and they think they found one in B12. They have not. 40% of Americans are B12 deficient, and this is after livestock being pumped full of B12 supplements themselves!
