Perhaps they want the airlines to do a better job maintaining their fleet such that the airline is capable of meeting its obligations with respect to arriving on time without crashing.

The ending was a bit bizarre. I don’t think anyone should want to be a one man army in a corporate setting. You will never be rewarded commensurate to the work in that setting.

The author seems confused. Decibels aren’t units. They’re a way to express a ratio between a reference value and some other value.

They’re used where they are useful.

They have to seek vc funding to grow because one of their competitors will. If they don’t, they will lose the market to the vc backed hyper scaler.

Creating abstractions without considering performance is probably the correct approach. It’s much better to at least start with a program with enough abstraction to allow reasoning about how things should work. Save performance concerns for when optimization is seen to be necessary.

I think you’re actually not very well informed despite being confident of your position. The body attempts to maintain stasis at a given weight. “Lifestyle choices” as a solution are essentially a constant uphill fight against your body and its signals. High probability of failure, because there is no point at which your body stops telling you to eat more to reach the weight it thinks you should be.

I think now that we actually have a solution, we can stop saying this “lifestyle choices” junk. The reality is people rarely have a true choice.
