I think you missed the point. Any negotiation, from the point of view of the author, was a negative and unfair outcome.
He had paid to rent the space for a particular purpose. He had already compromised by allowing a portion of the space to be less than ideal for his use. The other side was demanding “completely our way and nothing for you” given fabricated reasons.
He did not care to understand because he could tell the reasons were not legitimate.
No was the right answer and to call the manager’s bluff. He does t make the final decision, the owner does.

Frontier AI research is not only under incredible commercial pressure but it’s also a geopolitical advantage.
I don’t think Dario wants to be a monopolist. But history is full of brilliant people who focused on the social good as priority #1 and lost the game early.
Once you lose the game and go bankrupt you can’t do anything. Same as politics, if you’re not elected you can’t change anything. Of course there are many lines not worth crossing.

What’s the end goal for Cloudflare and the web here? I don’t think ADOG (anthropic, deepmind, openai, google) is going to pay to crawl.
What would force their hand?
It’s more likely they’ll strike undisclosed agreements with major sources of discussion like reddit etc.
That’s not to say getting new information as a way of context-providing is not going to happen but that’s not scraping.

Classic marketing pricing strategy. Suddenly what has been seen as cheap is now given airs of luxury, exclusivity and craftsmanship.
If you are really serious about your work… and you are, aren’t you? Then $150 is nothing, it’s a reflection on how serious you are. An artist needs great tools… etc etc

Wowza this will be a token guzzler. Assuming Claude is parsing every message posted on multiple slack channels, compacting knowledge etc.
Looks like Anthropic is progressing further into platform territory and conquering Agentic use cases left right and centre. If you’re building an agent platform for workforce productivity today, your best best is model agnosticism and focus on token cost control.

A2A Protocol is directed at enterprises as is much of Google Cloud’s AI focus. They just renamed their AI suite “Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform” if you don’t believe me.
Enterprises have been sold on the idea of Agents talking to each other and performing collaborative work (replacing employees etc) so it makes sense.
From my pov nothing stops me from having a full blown agent _behind_ my MCP server.
So calling agent sees and MCP server, gets list of tools etc. The MCP server spins up an instance of relevant Agent and tells it to maintain state (if needed) as a key back to the calling agent’s MCP session_id.
Trivial stuff on Cloudflare
