>In China when the government tells its citizens to do >something, they just do it. They don't ask why. They don't >deliberate on whether it's the correct choice. They simply >follow the directions. In the West, everything is up for >debate. People don't like to be told what to do.
No, they do not. Chinas propaganda machine just tells you they do. That is why china- even with all its measures couldnt clamp down. Behind the waver thin authoritarian theater presented lurks the same chaos as in africa and india.

Again.. maybee its time to admit, that propaganda announcements out of china - are simply not worth the time and effort.
They announce to go green, and produce a potemkin village of effort.
They announce to ban trade of wild animals (2012/ 2017) and it just never is fully implemented or enforced.
China is actually even more chaotic then africa, because that nice facade of that utopian well working, strong government many int he west secretly year for, distracts from the actual chaos and routined subversion on the ground.

Comp Sience is loaded with people who need to compensate there insecuritys by making other people look stupid or incompetent.
Why shouldnt somebody refuse a "broadly" accepted theory. If science, then he/she will only proof it in the end. It should be embraced, not discouraged. Attacking science with rigor, is the best you can do for science.

Its better to live at the end of times. Gives your life significance. Makes everything you do, your possible last one.
Is a symptom of how mundane, boring and deeply hated the western life style actually is by those living in it.
To paint a picture with the knife: "Im isolated, but at least we all die together."
One scenario usually not even considered by the xeno-phobic, could cgove use this against its own aging "lost" generation?
They are prone to riots - and there is no social net except for family (which fails due to western cultural influence).
So a virus to carry them out in large numbers, would make sense if your where a sociopathic government, focused maniacally on stability and at the end of the rope when it comes to winging it with nationalism.

I wonder if the open source world could saddle on - what is obviously just a price lowering attempt. Grow something like the mozilla foundation, just from the attempts to reign license costs in- which then implements a directx compatible gfx api layer and a comon driver pool - that really always works.

To get rid of them.. a incompetent person is basically organizational tech debt.. and if you can move the tech debt away from you, abstract it.. the organization can recover and be more effective again. So up s/he goes, to be encapsulated in a personal little pearl of people, while to organisms capability suffer less.
Also remember, if you wouldnt promote the person away from you, you would basically demote or keep him around, neutral-moted. So your lack of support creates a antagonistic figure in your workplace.
So lets play nice, push the hr-failure to the waterhead, where they can pea-cock around with a harem of secretarys, and hopefully do neither good nor harm.

Its a brain bug - our brain makes a flat copy of everyone we meet. If we can not comprehend/ deduce what he/she does the brain is hardwired to early out - and the person is either (depending on outcome) a idiot, or a genius.
If you want to be percieved by others as genius, this can be easily accomplished. Engage in endavours where you control the outcome, but make a show of beeing percieved as a mumbling fool, doing seemingly nonsense on the way.

My grandfather had a intern - a old former professor of radioactive chemistry who hole-hearted disagrees with your attitude. 10 years is a long time, ten years after a civil war after a world war is a eternity. People do not get education in that time, the whole hierarchys of institutions have allmost disappeared and all the knowledge is dated (one of the reasons those professors - who where send to pig-farms, had to reeducate in the west).
Also the remnant of the rampage remains- aka, a youth who learned that in great masses- they can get away with anything, and have to bow to no rule.
Its hard to start a society again, if you really had a goverment supported near-anarchy for ten years.
