You don't need docker anymore - it is safe and fast to deploy as systemd services.

And yeah AWS and the likes made for big money spenders with gigantic DevOps teams, not one person handling everything.

We at DollarDeploy were advocating that for 95% of your usage needs you don't need anything but one server and if outgrow it just switch to a bigger one.

I think one cloud in a bottle should be solved differently - apps deployed independently but additional thin layer for MDM - so logins and core data is at one place.

Imagine if your self hosted wordpress, outline, nextcloud and etc share same logins and access levels, bootstrapped with same information without the need to type it for every app.

I just had a thought about similar thing - how to track human decisions on the codebase? Consider you are writing code together with AI, how you understand which code change happened because human asked for it

If you need to give access to your CRM/ERP system from ChatGPT / Claude desktop for non-tech users, MCP is the way.

I build integration for DollarDeploy but it was tricky.

In v.1 making MCP stateful was such a deployment-unfriendly way to do it - you need a complicated persistence layer for it to work.

All while it is just a fancy way make your OpenSchema PAI visible to AI.

OTel is very complicated while yeah for example datadog is just dropin. And Graylog support for OTel makes it a second class citizen in the logs (all attributes are prepended with otel_attributes_ which makes searching difficult).

Using is hard, vendors are hostile, it seems like no-one want it to be a first class citizen...

Is it for managing my software deployed in the customer's cloud environment? Would you support simpler deployment targets, like on premises VMs etc?

At DollarDeploy we developing the platform to deploy apps to VMs with managed services provided, kind of like Vercel for your own servers. Would be interesting to try alien for enterprise customers.

Unfortunately turbopack have some bugs in bundling. Does not work on some of my projects. Can't reproduce outside of whole codebase, so no ticket.

Turbopack does not work for every app, I think they skip some build steps when building like typescript validation etc and aggressively cache node modules.

Not every project can be compiled on production server since compiling NextJS might take quite a lot of RAM, I would advise against it.

Not containers to blame but overprovisioning and how much resources dedicated to building. I am not sure how Vercel gets things build in literal seconds, but, hey, they are the creators of NextJS.

At DollarDeploy we building it also in containers but every build get 4GB/2CPU so it is quite fast but not as fast as Vercel.
