The Xantia can have the classic hydraulic suspension (hydropneumatique) identical to the Citroën BX or the Hydractive II system with an electronic calculator on board and more "spheres". The XM had the first Hydractive system.

We're missing a high-speed connection here. The Bordeaux-Sète line is relatively slow (130-160 km/h) and handle a lot of different traffic (freight, regional, TGV, intercity). If the Bordeaux-Toulouse high-speed line is done (planned 2032), that travel time would be shortened.

On some routes between France and Switzerland police and customs inspection seems to take place on board. It's even better, no time wasted.

In the 90s, one of the most expensive Minitel, the Magis, had a card reader on the side, probably working like a point of sale terminal. [0]

I still have the 4 floppy disks (french version). I remember the sentence generator with random words that was really funny. The word processing interface had a ribbon-style toolbar with tabs and multiple "pages" that we can alternate by clicking on the lever.

On analog satellite, Canal+ had analog stereo (not NICAM) not scrambled audio, much better than the AM distorded signal on terrestrial tv.

Canal+ was the first private and pay-per-view channel, using the VHF bands empty after the shutdown (in 1983) of the 819 lines black and white signal of TF1.

In Québec, Apple Maps is pretty good for directions in french language. I asked relatives in France and they say Apple Maps has improved a lot, and is better than Google Maps on public transit because of the better lisibility of lines, easy to use integration of realtime schedules (one click on a stop) and subway stations maps.
