i just use aerospace. It's not that great, but it's a lot more usable than without it.
I wish it performed as well as glazewm on windows. I can make a windows box be almost as responsive as a linux box, I simply cannot do that with a macbook.

I once had neighbors above me whose kids yelled all the time. all the time. and sometimes they were sick of the yelling and they put their girls outside of the apartment door. and she was just punching hard the door over and over and yelling “MAMAAAA!”.
Sure I feel sorry for the kids being distressed for one reason or another. but these guys did literally nothing.
There just has to exist someone on the planet for which the title “shit parents” does objectively apply no matter how you look at it.

Yeah, I can’t imagine why anyone would think that moving away from the most explicit source of truth possible would make AI work any better. the things good UIs excel at is data representation, not processing. Representing a tree or a graph in text sucks. But AI can sure read a text representation of a tree or a graph and reason about it much faster than through a UI

You know it often is the case that APIs like this both in C++ and Rust don't offer you enough knobs when your usecase deviates from being trivial.
It happens with locking APIs, it happens with socket APIs, anything platform dependent.
Does the C++ standard give you an idiomatic way to set PTHREAD_RWLOCK_PREFER_READER_NP or PTHREAD_RWLOCK_PREFER_WRITER_NP explicitly when initializing a rwlock? Nope. Then you either roll your own or in Rust you reach for a crate where someone did the work of making a smarter primitive for you.

same. i thought it would have been as quick to pick up as rust. nowhere near. i spent weeks trying to go through every feature of the language at least once. time in which i could’ve read several rust books and already start hacking up some interesting projects. so much in swift is pointless syntax sugar. why do i need 50 ways to do exactly the same thing, it’s just nonsense. then i have to look up the language reference whenever i read a new codebase
