My wife is vietnamese, I am learning vietnamese, i am interested in vietnamese history. Yet I cannot bring myself to care about this article lol.

I live in Germany. and i wish i lived in an EU that’s dictated by germany, but that is not the EU I live in.

I once tried to stick to Green’s Literal Translation but it got dry fast. I actually enjoyed reading the preface and made me appreciate the work Jay Green Sr put in.

As an engineer I've found most managers that i ever worked with to be perfectly fine people and their role was justified and I was happy that their job was not my job.

By most I mean maybe 75%

yeah, I would say half of the program managers I ever interacted with had their role justified, the other half would be let go during the next layoff....along with at least half the competent ones..

I’ve used the London underground. I wouldn’t let my kids go on it alone. I welcome this tbh. I don’t see what else they’re supposed to do other than have permanent guards on every wagon and every corner 24/7

with very, very expensive logic analyzers... But yeah, nothing weird here. Plus OP was retelling a story of someone else doing it, while probably not being a specialist in this field. So I wouldn't take the "random inputs" part literally.

Idk, do you play those point and click adventure games from early 2000s? Syberia? Broken Sword? they’re decent. Deponia also good, Truberbrook. What I cannot stand are things that are medieval and then everyone refers to you as Ihr instead of du or Sie. Was that even a thing? Even the star wars games do it… which i guess it’s because jedi “knights”.

i never managed to pay attention fully to an audio book. i always have to go back 30 seconds every now and then cause i lose the plot. i am the same with books. i never read it linearly. i jump back a lot and reread a page or two. and jumping back is just way easier with text. and it’s easier with a physical book than on a kindle. on my big android tablet i can scroll fast back if it’s a pdf. but it’s not always fun to read on a tablet
