My wife is cabin crew at BA. The best example I can give of things they need to know is how to let a bomb explode and leave the aircraft going. There's a procedure on how to cover a found bomb with layers of chairs, wet blankets, etc. She also needs to know all the ways to extinguish a fire, depending on its source.

On switching peripherals between both work and home computers, I've been using for a few years now a UGREEN USB Switch. It's around £21 for the USB 2 version at the moment in the UK. So it's basically what the author uses but you connect both machines there and click a button to toggle between machines. On mine there's 4 ports only but maybe that's enough for most people - I'm only using half.

Sorry, it's not your fault but I found this funny because, of course German is the top first language in the EU, it's EU's most populous country, by far. Romanian is the 7th and Dutch the 8th and so on, pretty much every country has its own national language, with only a few exceptions.

I use another browser for those sites. So Firefox with all the fancy add-ons for 99% of my browsing and then Edge for those times I really can't have it failing on me (any sort of payment, that's pretty much it).

I remember I was so nervous and full of doubts about doing it, I had nobody I trusted I could talk to at the time but I was doing really bad. I first tried to find a familiar face on that directory, just based on pictures, someone I could see myself talking to. When I did find someone, it took me a few days before finally trying to reach them. It was extremely difficult to be honest. But I did it. It's been a few years now. Couldn't be happier with my decision.

You might want to try Cesium: http://www.cesium-app.com/

You can hide most images/covers on Cesium. I bought it one or two years ago, use it sometimes instead of the Music.app.

On a side note, one feature I'd wish was in all these players is the ability to pin stuff. I'd like to pin x albums, that's how I listen to them, x albums per month.

Actually earthquake quick release cycles are very good for humans as it prevents bigger earthquakes in the future. Same with volcanoes.

Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't, at least in Europe. If you're price sensitive, always check both before booking it.

Some examples: I've booked directly with the place to pay half price for one night in an amazing farm in Iceland; I've got the opposite last time I booked a night in a cheap hotel in Portugal. I usually check the Booking.com price and then check directly with the hotel then "Oh, but I've seen this cheaper in Booking.com", "Yes, please do the reservation via Booking.com then".

I've been in that situation myself, a wave luckily brought me closer to the shore as I was about to quit and then I could just run to safety. We might need to consider not all cities are made to be tall. You cannot make Lisbon or Vienna go tall, otherwise it's not Lisbon or Vienna anymore... Also, it's silly to move local residents to the outskirts to have tourists right in the city center as tourists don't have to commute on a daily basis, they can be away from the center, it's perfectly fine for them.

It's my current hobby to explore ways to do this. My goal is to create a library which I can then use for several purposes. I'm mostly inspired by Civilization V end game replay map[0]. My second goal is to use the library to create a few educational map-based history tools because I love reading that stuff but have a hard time visualising it.

Yes, along with Canary Wharf, both private places with even private police. But I'd say the City Hall example is a level more problematic than that because that's where you would demonstrate, there's where the decision making is happening. Imagine not being possible to gather in front of the Houses of Parliament...

One example from the article: the London City Hall, where the major works from, is in private space so there can't be any demonstrations there. Don't you think this is problematic?
