Why is a trusted device chain needed? It will put more trust in the potential Chinese device maker and American software companies than the user who's id is shown?

But there is a harm. Just had to repair a pc of my family, because you are able to install windows 11 on a MBR Partition without EFI Boot. Has to convert it and fix some stuff, but it still starts only every second boot (srsly)

Talking about web and small busines: probably true. For lager company it was never really an option, because it was only licence free on windows. So no IBM ASF, iText on Solaris or other huge non-windows text renderer used arial even if they don't use a corporate design font

I can recommend z-push as active sync frontend. It can combine different data source (IMAP, caldav, carddav).

Having a surface 5 pro laying around here, with a bitlocker encrypted disk, which turns quickly into a BSOD during boot. Do you think it could work in auch situation? I'm still waiting for an exploit to the tom to extract some pictures from the disk

Ah you made me think of my favourite screensaver. It was definitely "Bis ans Ende der Welt" (Until world's end) from the German post. Watched it many hours as a youth. But I think I miss a after dark screensaver which I really liked but I can't remember which one it was

Sounds like a DSGVO/GDPR nightmare. And I really don't want to explain why the deleted data are part of some sold stolen data blob. There might be some technical use cases, but in general it has many culprit

Adobe or Pantone seems to canceled some kind of contract about the use of panotme color library. As Adobe creative cloud is a monthly paid service and not a bought software, all illustrator and other Adobe product software can not use the Pantone colour libraries anymore, which are really important as a professional. You have to buy a additional add-on from Pantone. The important part ist that pantome as a IP company only sells a library with name and color codes. This freezone palette seems to be a free copy of color values with different names.
