The cannonballs should have randomized elevation as well so that "raking" the bow and stern is more likely to get hits than hitting the side. Hits on the bow and stern should also do more damage. Cross the T!

Can regen brakes keep a car stopped? I would think that the braking force diminishes as the rotor speed approaches zero so it wouldn’t keep you in place on a steep hill, but I’m not sure.

I think this is close but misses the only thing that really matters: birth control makes it a choice. We are just 3 generations into being able to decide whether or not sex means kids. And making that positive choice takes a lot of energy.

You are confusing owning a house with having paid off a mortgage. I can go get a mortgage for $1 million tomorrow, but that does not make me a millionaire. It makes me an debtor with a house I can't afford.

Economics always applies at the margins. If this means that no one can afford $500 million homes anymore, then builders will stop building them, and start building slightly cheaper homes. That will increase the supply of the slightly cheaper homes, so they will have to become cheaper, thus putting pressure on the even cheaper homes. Eventually, if other friction isn't too great (which is not given) the downward price pressure and increased supply should reach the regular person market.

A system where you are incentivized to give up for the rest of the month if you were to high once doesn’t make sense. I am skeptical that the description was accurate.

What you have described is an obviously terrible system that doesn’t incentivize lower power consumption.

That’s not how it’s going to work in Nevada. It will be the highest 15 minute period of each day, so if you spread out your power usage you have room to game the rates and save money. And if you have a bad day it will only cost you a dollar or two and the next day is fresh.

Plus it’s not on top of the total consumption. The consumption rate is getting cut so that people should be paying roughly the same amount as before.
