I think one idea is that there aren't very many habitable planets. The Trisolarians are coming to Earth because it's their only option, not because they want to destroy humanity.

I’ve had claude code create a practice project for me to learn SQL. I had it create 12 projects of graded difficulty with automated tests. It was super helpful. I had to revise the lessons as I was completing them, but overall it worked fantastically.

Until the people in charge face jailtime for hurting innocent people, why would they care? The government shouldn’t be warning, it should be ordering and imprisoning. And funding and educating where there are genuine gaps.

That is false. Heat pumps are more efficient than burning gas in a home even when the electricity came from burning gas.

I couldn't find out if he ever got convicted or sentenced to anything.

But any cyclist, including myself, can tell you that there are people out there with murder in their hearts who want you to die just for the crime of delaying them by a few seconds.

This kind of rhetoric is actually going to get cyclists killed. There are enough drivers on the road already who intentionally try to scare cyclists. This will push some of them over the hill to murder someone with their pickup truck.

It’s a good book but I didn’t agree that the big problem would be men lacking meaning because they didn’t have to work. They had families, homes and food. They could have devoted themselves to personal improvement, art, sports, their kids, whatever. I’d love to have security and no job. I’d be full to the brim with meaning and satisfaction.

Hybrid cars are mostly parallel hybrids. Only the Chevy Volt comes to mind as a serial hybrid.

No it’s not. The majority of power comes from the engine. It drives the electric motor mechanically, using it as a transmission. It is not just charging the battery.

I tried to find what the worst option is other than putting them in space and you can do a lot! Trucking diesel to the middle of the Sahara is a decent option in comparison to space.
