> I feel this fucking form of slavery as well hard
I think you'd do well to learn more about how slaves were treated before making these comparisons.
This is very anecdotal. Here in the south, the "controversial, left-ish values" would be a breath of fresh air vs what is being taught here
> Schools have stopped educating in favor of test metrics, making sure the worst students pass
This is no child left behind in action, which was implemented during W's term
> With remote education during the pandemic, people have more visibility into their school's day-to-day teaching
^ This is the micromanagement that a ton of people claim to hate and get in their way on this site when folks are complaining about daily standups.
IMO, if you're worried about the quality of your kid's education then you'll either need to send them to a private or home school, which will stunt them socially because life isn't just one big private school or home, or encourage curiosity and learning at home to supplement their rote learning from school

Maybe? I don't think so though. I may have written incorrectly because my personality itself did not change, but it was a massive change seeing eating and drinking remarkably smaller amounts of stuff and I knew it was because of the drug slowing down my digestion. I'd rather have my agency to make mistakes and maybe eat half a pizza when I want to instead of finishing a slice and feeling queasy at the thought of a second one.

Yeah I stopped because I didn't like the way it made me feel. I needed it because my blood sugar was way too high and it helped me drop close to 60 pounds in 6-8 months, but I did not like how it made me feel and I lost more muscle than I was happy with.
I've gained about 15-20 pounds back, but I'm now much healthier overall.
I like how my brain works and I didn't like something affecting or changing that because I couldn't put the fork down. Easy decision for me

It's not half. I think close to 32% were fully supportive (voted for him) and around 36% sat at home or abstained, but in practicality they basically said they were fine with whoever won.
I don't know which is worse, that 32% were in support of the corrupt leader or that 68% in total are either supported him or didn't care enough to support anyone else

Yeah I think my response was a bit harsher than I intended so sorry about that. I appreciate you responding
I'm not going to pretend like I was never a social media sleuth or checking my (at the time, currently no longer) gf's best friends on snapchat to try and figure out who she was talking to more than me or facebook posts, whatever. I had reason to be distrustful/skeptical which, unfortunately, was validated. You bring up a fair point (in reference to a normalcy) in industries around checking in on spouses to see what they're up to at all times to make sure they're being honest. I think this is going to get even worse for people as, anecdotally, it seems more so than ever that folks are leaning toward risk aversion and don't want to be vulnerable, especially when it comes to subjective things or matters of the heart.
Ultimately, I think you hit it on the head, it must come down to building that genuine trust. It can be hard to build if your previous partners cheated on you. However, I'd lean towards trusting if your current partner has shown no signs of deception and seems happy in the relationship. Otherwise it's totally possible to ruin a relationship because one hasn't dealt with the trauma or baggage of the previous one(s).

Hard agree. Location sharing and stuff like that is addressing a symptom instead of a problem. Just break it off if the trust is broken

> I started watching for long periods, which got me noticing irregularities.
This is not normal. Why would you want to do this?
> Convinced she was cheating on me, I started spoofing my location and driving by to see if her car was at home.
You thought it was more likely that she would have spoofed her location to go cheat on you instead of attributing it to a tech failure, so you starting lying to her and showed up to her place?
I'm surprised she didn't break it off with you because of what you did. I'm glad y'all figured it out but there's a lot of stuff you need to unpack.

Someone above this said the boxes in a grocery store are "shouting" at them with their bright colors. I know autism has varying levels but like, I sincerely worry about their ability to live if looking a box is causing a truly remarkable level of distress.
> hyper focus on a very complex cognitive task or dedicate hours of "boring" repetitive practice in a physical activity
That's awesome, take that win for sure that it's easier for them to do that and if one would rather go farm than take place in society then I think that's a fantastic goal to work toward.

Yeah this is a thing that gets me. Everyone has to mask because otherwise there'd be a more conflict over shit that doesn't matter then there likely already is during meetings and stuff.
Some of the messaging too is just... off-putting/patronizing. "Brave the grocery store"? I know social situations can be tough on people but it's not you're being asked to kill the chicken and process it or grow the veggies. Is resiliency so low that it's a battle to go pick up necessities?
Maybe I was blessed to grow up in a poor, not exactly stable household at least for a while.
