This is so blinkered and egocentric.

Just because LLMs are good at translating English to code, doesn’t imply they are good at many other jobs.

Coding isn’t that hard, it’s just not enjoyable to most people. The enjoyment has always been the barrier to entry.

You are missing a major driver of this. The main reason fertility rates have been decreasing is because of decreasing infant mortality. The number of children surviving to adulthood has been relatively stable until recently.

This is why I have moved all my money out of the US market. I’d rather go for the picks and shovels in Asia and the boring rule of law in Europe.

The cost per month is 100% known and always has been. What has been variable is the rate of delivery. AI is different and can be substantial in countries with lower wages.

The real thing is that it is on tap. If I have to engage an Indian outsourcer to hand off easy stuff to it’s going to be much more painful.

They absolutely do. Tech and business are sensitive to culture.

The uk has both, so it depends.

There is going to be more of this though.

In London you really have to force your way out at junctions. This is not legal, but without it a waymon might never make progress.

I don’t see this being solved.

It relies on human eye contact to work.

Periodic reminder to the Americans..

Self driving cars are only safer than regular cars in the US because your standards of driving are so bad.

It’s very unlikely to be the case in the UK.

It’s not an interesting glitch. It’s just common sense. Nobody in their right mind would have their only backup in the same system as the prod data.

We had a token portion for the grade from coursework. Eg 10%. Its enough to force you to do it, but not enough to influence the grade too much.

In the Uk we have two exam papers that make up the age 16 mathematics exam. In one you use a calculator and one your don’t.

You need to be able to do both things. We don’t need to make it a choice.
