Yes, you're right. But there's a slight difference. No street, square, bridge etc. in Russia is named after Vlasov. And there are no monuments to Vlasov in Russia. Also Putin never said that praising a Nazi war criminal as a national hero is a normal and cool thing.
Zelensky: "There are indisputable heroes. Stepan Bandera is a hero for a certain part of Ukrainians, and this is a normal and cool thing."
What I am trying to explain is that "Slava Ukraine! Heroyam Slava!" is a direct calque from the German "Heil Hitler! Sieg Heil!".
"Slava" literally means "Heil" ("hail" in English). "Hitler" is replaced with "Ukraine" and "Sieg" (victory) with "Heroyam" (heroes).
This salute was coined and popularized by Ukrainian Nazi collaborators during WW2.
Now it's up to you to decide whether everyone that uses the phrase Heil Hitler (Long live Hitler) is also a Nazi or not.

The modern response "Heroiam slava!" (Glory to the heroes!) appeared in the 1930s among members of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN). [0]
The greeting "Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes!" became an official slogan of Stepan Bandera's Nazi allied OUN-B in April 1941. OUN actively participated in holocaust and other atrocities during WW2. [1]
In other words, he roughly said "See you, Heil Hitler!" and she replied "Sieg Heil!"
Be safe!! Take care of yourselves!!
[0] - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glory_to_Ukraine
[1] - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Organization_of_Ukrainian_Nati...

Area.
To produce 1 gigawatt of power you need 1000 square kilometers of wind turbines or 300 sq km of solar elements or 3 sq km of nuclear power plants. How much land do you have in your country that you are ready to deforestate in order to build renewables?
Predictability.
Renewables depend on weather. They only work when the wind blows or the sun shines. Are you ready to be able to heat your house only when the weather forecast is good?

Europe and the USA simply have no alternative to Russian oil and natural gas. They may have in 20 or 30 years from now if they start investing in it several billion dollars per year right now. That's why gas prices in Europe and oil prices in the USA are skyrocketing these days.

I am astonished to see such technically literate populace just repeating mainstream bullshit propaganda instead of having their own thoughts.
And it's not only regarding the nuclear but also about many other topics, especially politically charged.

Wikipedia is full of disinformation on topics regarding politics and history. It is a good source of knowledge about mathematics, astronomy, biology, physics etc, but if you want an unbiased opinion on any political/historical issue you have to avoid Wikipedia. It is packed with disinformation not only about China/Taiwan, but about any country whose government and/or population is not a faithful believer in the dogma that the western orwellian police states are democracies and the USA is the most democratic democracy that ever existed in the galaxy.

There is one thing that confuses me:
>After an 18-month legal struggle, he was granted political asylum in the Netherlands, while his wife and children are living safely in Turkey.
So after such inhuman tortures living safely with his wife and kids in Turkey was not enough for him? Why on earth did he leave his family for the Netherlands? And why there was the 18-month legal struggle?
I believe the struggle was because judges are not as easily fooled as the general audience. They need real proofs, not just his own words and some scars on his hand.
All this looks very much like he just invented this horror story to get a refugee status in a rich European country. As for me, I'd rather believe the Chinese government who says it is fake news than this Kazakh-Uighur.
Another question: why not Kazakhstan if he's half Kazakh? Why first Turkey and then the Netherlands?

First, by the time of his imprisonment he was not yet the world's greatest rocket engineer. He became one some 20 years after.
Quote from here: https://www.esa.int/About_Us/ESA_history/50_years_of_humans_...
> On 23 March 1938, Valentin Glushko was arrested. To reduce his charges he denounced Korolev, which resulted in his arrest on 7 June and a sentence of ten years forced labour. From that day on, the two men were bitterly opposed to each other.
So as you can see he was not sent to gulag out of spite by Stalin but out of envy and professional competition by his fellow rocket engineer.
While in gulag he was not tortured or sent to gold mines. He and other scientists continued their work in relatively comfortable conditions in so called "sharashka": https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sharashka
I'm not saying that Stalin was a saint or a winged seraph. But definitely he was anyone but an idiot.
Also Korolev did not died because he was sent to the Gulags. He died from a chronic disease from which he started suffering long before he was imprisoned.

The only fucking idiot among top Soviet politicians was Gorbachev who sold one of the world's biggest economic, scientific and military powers just for 30 pieces of silver. His predecessors were no idiots at all. They are depicted as complete morons by the western propaganda - it's true. But propaganda and reality are two completely different things. I would advise you to learn history instead of blindly believing the yellow press and political articles on Wikipedia.
