Not if your tradition is to have freedom. Then to be a conservative means to conserve freedom. Think about the UK & US. The conservatives don't want to change what it means to be American/British, but the far left want to change it all. They want to change: ownership, innovation, free market, property, freedom of speech/expression, freedom of thought/opinion, employment, government, you name it.

Conservatives = resist change Progressive = encourage change

and change goes both ways -/+ right? We know this.

In Poland, they want to have a place to call home that feels European, feels Western. In the UK if you say that, straight-to-jail.gif or less flippantly, threatened and shunned by either people who don't want you to have an opinion or people afraid of them.

It's a sorry state of affairs.

They're probably focusing on people who work rather than trying to tax people who work and innovate to pay for people who don't work or innovate. Strangely, focusing on economics is good for economies

The solution is clear: yes we use AI, and we're okay with it.

There's no way Claude/AI recreated another persons app exactly, with the same name and branding, without being told to do so in some way. I just don't believe it.

And him not using it and calling out AI is just him covering his ass

Only way it's costing $10 is if you're putting your whole code base in without without any work or guidance, which is what people who don't use AI day to day think is what happens.

i think most things can be automated, but not everything

i think AI will just replace jobs with new jobs, and humans will continue with open-ended goal setting, and probably jobs where being human is necessary: responsibility and authenticity, so judges, politics, leaders, chefs, etc.

so in a way, the above commenter was correct, anything a programmer can automate, AI can do

That's because testing is a layer above, and that requires effort from people, and people don't want to put in the effort or lack the skills to properly test with them. I think LLMs are superb at testing, but I have a lot of machinery in front of them to enable it

I think the terminology of "incredible" is the operative word but I agree, if it could help, great. But I'm very skeptical. I find it hard to think that your gut biome can affect your brain so much that you struggle with social queues but are able to have an amazing memory.

But then I've met people not on "the spectrum" who have an amazing memory, such as a professor I recently met with who could remember the page numbers for certain phrases in books. Perhaps Asperger-level people just have the ability with the added challenges of autism?
