I find it hilarious that Apple is selling the new iphones with AI features that only works on the new devices because they apparently don't require the cloud, and instead run locally.

Apple's logic:- saving private photos on the cloud is good for privacy, while doing AI computation on the cloud is somehow bad for it ?

I think this is the reason why "shorts" , or tiktok style videos work. I think YT shorts does this in a way, where you get a snippet of a long video as a shorts

This could just be a side-project by some guy working in a tech company with a 'no inventions/IP clause' in his contract. People prefer to stay anonymous in such cases, and launch silently, as to not pull attention from their main org. Not everybody can be a twitter-tech bro announcing his creations on ProductHunt and not get in trouble for it.

I have a suspicion that it could be something that does voice recognition via the gyroscope data. I believe so for many reasons-

1. Gyroscope creates a lot of data for every millisecond, so it doesn't makes any sense to send all of it over to the server.

2. You only need to recognise certain keywords/movements of the user for somewhat accurate ad-tracking and behavourial analysis.

3. You don't need to prompt the user to allow access to it.

What trust ecosystem are you talking about ? It was a lack of foresight by google on their own discovery of transformers, and it would probably have been sitting in dust or been killed off by the time it would have taken them to reach GPT-2 level of progress.

That sounds like a great idea, I think you should go ahead and build it because this project is kinda completely different. And mediapipe is surely the way to go for a project idea of yours, since hand-tracking is quite robust with it.
