Well signing a contract is more about bearing responsibility, even if you granted LLMs "personhood" they cant' meaningfully bear responsibility. So unless OpenAI is ok with having their C-suite face every consequence for what their agents do, including jail time, fines etc, then it doesn't matter.

That is an absolutely terrible benchmark. Inference over a bounded search space is not a good measure of what "intelligence" actually is. part of the reason they are using math and not something actually challenging like long distance interstate trucking is because it's so much simpler and easier than what make intelligence intelligent.

The joke at my school was when the engineering students failed (mech, EE, civ) out, they went into business, when they failed out of business they went into software engineering.

Gambling isn't some brilliant new idea, even if you rename it. I understand the technical distinction trying to be made, but seriously, it's gambling.

A long time ago a very wise man told me that they way economy works is like a magnifying glass. Things are detected, the glass moves, and what's underneath is blessed with the political/economic grease to get the thing that is wanted going.

The question was always who moves the glass. It sounds like last calls for ladders being rolled up on the nouveau-riche.

$7.35/lb where I am with a $600 deposit. It ends up being about $2k all things considered. It may even out, but a lot of folks don't have that kind of money around, ~5% of a yearly salary isn't nothing for a lot of people.

I completely forgot about needing a chest freezer and space for a chest freezer..that's also not nothing.
