Yeah, I learned how it worked when I made the mistake of trying to use it to develop on a Raspberry Pi, where it filled the disk and crashed/hung the Pi by using all the RAM until it started using swap. Fell back to local with an sshfs mount instead.

This is my approach as well. I write a doc to myself with commit+line links for code, relevant snippets from documentation linked to the source, and annotated screenshots where that makes more sense, also linked if the source is web based.

This could also be used to run out-of-region discs on the US market version of the Playstation. It refused to start with a out-of-region disc, but you could start with a US disc and then swap in the out-of-region disc while running, provided it never detected the lid opening.
