Who really loses out in this scenario though?
It sure as hell isn't going to be Nvidia who hold all the cards as far as CUDA based computing goes.
People who want to use this tech will go where the tech is, people even switch away from Mac to Windows to access this tech.

> It was designed for normal people to be able to get in touch with famous people or vice versa
Not so sure about this. Wasn't it just designed to broadcast messages among people who knew each other. The celeb focus came later.
I'd also say it doesn't help that your onboarding focuses greatly on what celebs you're going to engage with on the service.

I feel TF2 has a place in peoples hearts so it keeps getting wheeled out in this debate way more times than it's deserved these days (especially considering Valve compromised both the art direction and coherence in recent years).
All 3 examples here are excellent but I want to say I know a lot of people hate on Destiny but the art direction, environmental art, creature design is all magical in terms of tech and results. Honestly feels like concept art brought to life and anyone dismissing it and not even giving it a chance just are missing out on some seriously impressive visuals resting perfectly between realistic and stylistic.

I did similar with a good 6 years between and with two different emails on different domains and it's friends suggestions both in it's own app and Instagram (not linked to FB account but sharing an email) manage to reference people I only ever knew during the time of the first account and never even interacted with on Facebook.
e.g a guy I interned for 10 years ago who I never spoke to/added on FB keeps showing up in my Insta suggestions. It's actually a bit unnerving and makes me worry who my account is suggested to.

Not sure why the article needed that smug condescending tone, not everyone is a tech blogger who upgrades their phone every year, plenty of people are still using sub iPhone 7 devices which as the article states DID include a radio hardware just not connected, yet the article seems to focus on how absurd it is that someone could be using an old device.

Someone there has some kind of vision, doesn't mean it's a good one but there was a definite attempt to shove most MBP customers into using iPad Pro and the Mac Pro line probably only survived by a very slim margin.
It's pretty obvious the iMac Pro was supposed to replace the Mac Pro lineup (despite having all the same problems) then at the last minute they decided to start working on a New New Mac Pro.
Not sure who has this vision if it's Tim, Ive or someone else but whoever it is they don't respect the idea of an actual computer like Jobs did. From what has been reported Cook doesn't even use a laptop anymore.
